A Jay Chou’s day – 22 December 2009

It’s been two years.. The last time Jay came to Singapore was on his birthday for his world tour concert. A few years back when Jay came to Singapore for the movie – Initial D, I “stalked” for him from Changi Airport. Picnic-ED outside the gates to wait for him, lined in a queue under the rain for hours. *SCREAM* As I need to work, I didnt meet the rest at the arrival hall. Jay took the morning flight from msia to Singapore. Liwei and Jordan were there to welcome Jay.

In the afternoon, Jay had press conference, then interview with 933fm radio, then to Plaza Singapura. Knowing that there will be a lot of people at PS, I went straight to GV Vivocity. I was at home after my work, wishing to complete my assignment first . But I just couldn’t sit still to complete my assignment. Too excited already. So in the end, I got dressed up and headed to GV Vivo.

When I reached, joined Esther and her sis, and Eileen. Wendy,Liwei and Jordan were at other side. There were a lot of people when I reached at 7pm. But more started to stream in after their work. I’m glad that I made the right decision to my high heels. I was taller than others and jad better view. Jay was supposed to reach PS at 7pm but he reached only at 730pm. Though I wasn’t there at PS, I was constantly being updated by jay’s whereabouts.

Then, around 8 plus, the 933 DJs,ZhiYong and JiaHui came and warmed us up. They were distributing the movie fan and we “fought” for it, snatched for it. Everyone was snatching like crazy. Around 845pm, Jay finally came, together with Lin Zhi Ling and the director. My view got blocked when everyone was pushing, squeezing, screaming, and taking photos. There were two stages- one at level two,at the ticketing counter, and the other one was at level three. After Jay and the crew finished their speech, they went up to level 3. It was then all of us started to run up the escalator. There were also people running up the escalator that’s going the opposite direction.. Ultimate OMG!

After the whole event, we took photos. Collin came and managed to find us in the midst of the chaotic situation. After that, all of us chilled out at Burger King and started to catch up. And not sure why Collin has super duper good memory to recall what we did many years ago (which I have no idea that it happened before).

After that, we left around 1030+ pm, super nice weather and there was a lot of stars :) there was belt of Orion too!!

22 December 2009 was fabulous cause of great event, fabulous gang and starry starry night.. I can’t wait for feb to come. Jay’s album gonna be out. And… June for his concert!! Should I start saving up and go Taiwan for his concert? :p

Dear reporters and paparazzi (o.i forgot that paparazzi dont check their facts), please check on your facts before saying or publishing anything.. How can they anyhow curse people?

I was looking through Yahoo News and the word “JAY CHOU” flashed on my computer screen.

Jay Chou death hoax

TAIPEI : Indonesian media had falsely reported that Taiwanese star Jay Chou had died from a drug overdose, according to Taiwanese reports.

On Saturday, a reader alerted The Liberty Times of online discussions on social networking site, Facebook, about the singer’s death and requested that the paper verify the reports.

When contacted, Chou’s record label JVR quashed the rumours saying the star is fine and is currently in America filming “The Green Hornet”. It also warned the public not to believe the rumours.

This isn’t the first time the singer is reported to have died. In 2004, a Chinese website published a report saying Chou was killed in an accident after a collision with a truck.

-extracted from CNA

Oh ya, I heard from 933fm this morning that Jay is busying filming “The Green Hornet” in America and may not be able to come to Singapore on 20 Dec 2009 for his movie gala. God, this musnt be happening.. I’ve been waiting for this day..

Nice music on my blog??  Yeah man, you got a great taste!

It is Jay Chou’s latest song and dueting with Cindy Yuan. The song is called “画沙”. Jay duet with her in her new title track ‘Sand Painting’ which Cindy has composed and the lyrics are written by Vincent Fang. This is the first time that Jay Chou has ever sung a song that is not composed by himself!

In few hours time will be his birthday. If he is standing in front of me (and provided that I wont faint then), I will encourage him to fasten his pace and find his true love. Love wont wait for him! I began to like him when I was in secondary two. Ben was my SJAB senior and I dont know when did we started to exchange letters to each other every morning before assembly. Then, I slowly find that I had a crush on him. Knowing that he likes Jay Chou, I went to search about Jay Chou. I was silly enough to force myself to listen to Jay’s songs so that Ben and I can have one more common topic. Though it was silly, I never regret what I’ve done. If not, I would not be Jay’s hardcore fan.

The first album that I bought was Jay’s third album 八度空間.

I bought it at Chinatown and got a poster and a pouch. It was then I started to get to know 周杰倫. My favorite song in that album was 半島鐵盒. The track begins with the sound of a man entering a bookstore and asks for help finding the novel Iron Box of the Island. In the lyrics, the “Iron Box of the Island” is described as both a locked box and a book title, used metaphorically to represent the memories of a lost lover.

Though I only started to like Jay from the third album, I got the full collection of his albums. I managed to get the first and the second from my da ge. In our family, we practiced this idol-fan system. This means that if I like Jay Chou, no one in the family must be his fan. My Da Ge is a hardcore fan of Faye Wong but he got Jay’s album too. Seeing both my brothers had their own idol, I also want to be involved. So I asked my da ge to give up Jay and give it to me. He agreed and so, I koped the first two albums from him. I remember that my da ge and er ge were snatching among themselves over this singer 张宇生. My da ge made my er ge to sign an agreement indicating that 张宇生 will be my er ge’s. But my da ge was cunning enough to change to surname in that agreement from “张” to “陈”. HAHA..In the end, I think my er ge cried and my mum had to stop everything.

This is my full collection of Jay’s album, including his music videos albums.

I also labelled them so that I will be clear which one is first album etc.

Jay’s latest album Capricorn was a birthday gift from very sweet brothers – J.A.S (Justin, Alex and Shawn) It’s my first time not buying the album and a gift for me!

This Initial D soundtrack was given from my GP teacher from helping him set up his website. He always tease me about Jay Chou until I felt irritated.

Being his hardcore fan, I also cut out his articles from magazines and newspaper. I have 3 books of his cuttings.

My god sister decorated this for me and I pasted it on my cuttings collection. And she also gave me the Winnie the Pooh imitation wearing Jay’s t-shirt.

When Initial D was coming to Singapore, I had my fan club gathering and we took with the real AE86 car which was owned by one of the members. We decorated the Initial D banner and took it with us to the airport to welcome Jay when he was here for the gala premiere. The banner was featured in the Wan Bao. Besides that, we queued up at IMM to get his super big Initial D poster and the Initial D T-shirt and car decal.

I also got some gifts from my friend. Sherlynn gave me Jay’s potato chips which I kept for years and years without opening it. She also gave me a glass for birthday present with Jay printed on it. I gave my first visit to the Indoor Stadium to Jay during his Incomparable concert. I was in secondary four that time and bought the very expensive ticket. My cousin was there too. She bought the concert merchandise for me as a gift.

I participated in a lucky draw contest from I weekly and was shocked that I won Jay’s limited Curse of the Golden Flower(滿城盡帶黃金甲) notebook and the poster.

In 2008, I went to his concert again, but this time round with Jay2U fan club people. I bought the fan club t-shirt and we bombarded the stadium. OMY.SG, XIN.SG, and many reporters came to interview us. I preordered the concert merchandise (my friend got lobang to preorder) which saved myself from queueing the super long queue. We celebrated his birthday and sang birthday song for him as it was 18 January 2008.

I went to his movie Kung Fu Dunk(功夫灌籃) sneak preview and this is the ticket and the nice invitation card. We got a super big poster.

I got the mp5 player that he endorsed from Shang Hai.

Next month, I gonna meet up my Jay fan club(JCNet) friends for steamboat. Long time never see them already. Some married, some attached, some back to school, some working. Cant wait to see them!!

I was one of the 100 lucky people who got to watch Kung Fu Dunk movie preview. This movie will be out on the first day of chinese new year (7 Feb 2008), together with Stephen Chow’s latest fiction comedy, CJ7. So, these two movies will be fighting to be listed in the top chart.

The story Kung Fu Dunk is inspired by the Japanese manga – Slam Dunk. The main character, Fang Shi Jie(by Jay Chou) is an abandoned child and was found beside a basketball court by one of the Kung Fu teachers and was brought back to the Kung Fu school. Shi Jie practiced excellent Kung-Fu and was equipped with a good sense of feel.

Shi Jie then knew Wang-Li who had wicked ideas and made his living in the streets. On the excuse of helping him search for his family, Wang-Li invited him to play basketball at the first university so as to make use of him to make money.

Shi Jie joined the basketball team and learned to combine the foundation of Kung-Fu into the basketball skills, which brought his skills into full play and helped team go through the critical competitions.

At this time, the team was constituted by a group of horrible men who were withstood to join any basketball games in the United States. They also bribed the referees, which made the basketball team of the first university become the living targets and face the situation of crushing defeat. When the situation was in danger, Wang-Li made great efforts to persuade four grand masters with excellent martial arts to take up a challenge at the last moment.

How did Shi-Jie reverse the situation and lead the team to create a miracle? Will he find his family? Who would be his lover at the end?

My two-cents worth comment
My Ratings (5 stars MAX): ratingsratingsratings
What I like about this movie: It is about Jay, and about basketball. These are my favourites.
What I dont like about this movie: There wasnt any impactful climax. Abit dry.
SPOILER ALERT..
This movie is not all about basketball and kung fu. There’s also abit about loyalty. Like what I mentioned in THE STORY section, Wang Li was using Shi Jie as his money tree. In this case, Wang Li still treat Shi Jie like his own son, took care of him and protected him from the bad people. In the end, Shi Jie got to know his family background. He is a rich kid and his father is going to bring Shi Jie back to London to inherit all his assets. Between money and loyalty, Shi Jie decided to stay with Wang Li. I have not met someone who is willing to give up his fame/wealth because of loyalty.
