Why face mask?

Do you think that your face only requires washing, toning and moisturising? Do you know that we also need to put face mask? Our face is one of the body parts we need to pay attention to. Our skin, especially our face is prone to wrinkles, fine lines. So, by using face mask at least once a week helps to make our skin softer and smoother, it also help to negate our everyday stress.

There are two kinds of mask that you can try. One is manufactured mask which you can get it at beauty stores, another one is Do-it-yourself mask where you mix those natural ingredients together and make a mask. Manufactured face masks always have chemicals and preservatives which is not good for your skin.

Different kind of masks cater to different skin types. So, you must know your skin type before getting anything from the shelve. If you do not know your skin type, read this.

Applying the mask..

You can try facial sauna first before applying the mask. It helps to open up your pores so that the mask you apply later can penetrate further to the inner layer of your skin. Applying the face mask on your face is not enought as you should not forget about your neck too. After suana, massage your face for better blood circulation. Apply the mask for 20 minutes before washing.

While having your face mask…

Do not speak or laugh. This is a time for you to rest and relax, and also , the mask can work better on your face.

A few weeks ago, I got my Coastal Scents 88 Ultra Shimmery Eyeshadow Palette. I was looking for good and cheap eyeshadows and Maurise introduced me the palettes from Coastal Scents. So, I bought this 88 Ultra Shimmery Eyeshadow Palette online and it costs me S$32.50 for all 88 colors.

The black case is 9″X6.5″ when it is closed. The surface of the casing is made of plastic. It has shiny surface but prone to get stained easily. I heard that matte surface one. The palette also comes with 2 foam tip eyeshadow applicators, but it is not those good quality ones. There’s also a mirror attached to the palette.

I find that this black case is rather small and very portable. It does not take a lot of the space. Each eyeshadow pan is the size of our Singapore 5-cent.

For better and long lasting effect, you can apply these 88 highly pigmented wet. The color will be more obvious.

I would recommend people to get this, especially beginners who do not know that much about makeup. You can play around with the colors. Or you can also get the 88 original eyeshadow palette.

If you have sensitive skin, you are easily irritated by stinging, chafing and even itching. You skin will feel dry and itchy at certain time of the day. Choosing the right cosmetic is important as not every cosmetics suit your skin. Cosmetics you can use must be alcohol free, emulsifier free and even fragrance free. I would encourage you to consult a doctor and use their products and not get those from shelve.

For all your facial products like cleanser, toner, moisturiser, do choose those which are unperfumed as they will not irritate your skin.

Remember that before you buy new products, take allergy patch test on your inner arm. So, you are able to know which products your skin likes and dislikes.

I got to try Dainty Design Mask – Citronnella Mask.

The formula helps to restore skin structure & makes your skin soften & radiant. It also retains & replenished moisture in the skin to prevent wrinkle from forming. Controlling the overflow of sebum oil.

Effects: Citronella mask helps you to get a firm & elastic skin. It is also able to control sebum secretions from the skin, thus making your skin less prone to the blemishes due to oily skin. The formula helps to restore skin structure making your skin soft and radiant. It also retains and replenishes moisture in the skin.

Ingredients: D.I.Water, Hyaluronic Acid, Collagen, Vitamin E Oil, Citronnella Extract, Aloe Barbadensis leaf juice.

Skin type: Suitable for all skin types especially oily skin.

I dont like the smell of this mask. It smells sticky. After applying the mask for 20 minutes, I find that my skin is more firm.

If you have combination skin, you experience little patches around your face that is oily. The dry part is usually your cheeks and oily part at the T-zone. Usually, women have this kind of skin which is prone to breaking of spots. Combination skin changes with time, age, seasons, hormonal fluctuations and environment. The oiliness and dryness changes with age.

How to take care of your skin?

Taking care of combination skin is tricky as you need to keep a balance between both the extremities of extreme dryness and oiliness.

1. In the morning, use a foaming face wash. Use a cream cleanser in the evening to sooth and smoothen the dry areas. After cleaning, use a strong astringent for the oily areas and light and mild skin freshener for the dry areas. Toner should be alcohol0free and used on the oily areas. Use moisturizer for the entire face and concentrate more on the dry areas.
2. Vitamin ACE helps to heal the skin and enhance collagen repair.
3. Use a gel mask for your face. Or you can have clay mask on the oily areas (T zone) and cream mask for dry areas.
4. Remember that a good sunscreen solution is essential for your skin.
