Again, it’s the Singapore Flyer in the dark. These photos were taken last Sunday (10 Jan 10) when I was back on the expressway heading to and from Changi Airport. While taking the photos of the flyer, I almost threw my phone out of the window. I had to grab tightly my phone to prevent it from flying off.
3 years has just passed and I’m still loving Singapore Flyer. On Sunday (3 Jan 2010) after sending er ge off to Cambodia, we drove back home along ECP. As usual I will either take out my phone or camera to snap some shots of the flyer. You can also check out my previous shots.
On Monday 23 Nov, went for my psychology test. Legs were aching like mad after the 10km Hope Run. After class, waited for ning and bentay and we went NUS HQ. Awwh..memorable place man.. Then we had our late lunch together at the canteen. Shared sliced fish soup with ning and I got my favorite peach milkshake. After that, we went to the room and studied, and I completed doing my psychology mindmaps. Then went back home for dinner.
Monday wasn’t a good day(you would have realised through my tweets).
Back home, bad news came to me again. How many times must I go through these? Really appreciate those who stood by me – you all know who you are. Really thank claris for hearing me out. Cant wait to see you on 12 dec. must update each other soon.
The next day (Tuesday, 24 Nov) was my first day of work at the childcare centre. The age groups are toddler, playgroup, nursery and kindergarden. I was in charge of the playgroup group. They are all two years old kids. There were two little boys who kept following and clinging to me. One of the boys was crying and I went to calm him down, wiped his tears. When he was much better, the teacher wanted to pull him away from me. What shocked me was that this little boy started to hug me and didnt want to leave me.. Awwh..
Brought the kids to playground to play slides, then they went for a shower. We had singing and dancing lessons. After lunch at 1130am, the kids went for their afternoon nap. It was really a great experience with them. Patted them to sleep, or tell bedtime stories. After work, went back home to sleep. In the end, I overslept :S . Rushed down to esplanade to caregroup.
“Kids are the stars of today. Kids are the joy of life. They are the angels of our lives. Kids are a message of cheer and joy to the world. Children are our little angels of love.” – Crystal Bogacki.
I would never imagine myself being a childcare teacher in my life. But in 2 weeks time, I’ll be one. I’ve been looking for part time job soon after I ended mine in august. Random idea of working in the childcare centre appeared to my mind. So on thursday (29oct), I called up the childcare centre below my house block to check if they are hiring part timers. And I went down for interview on monday (2nov). The vice principal interviewed me and got to know that my passion is music and designing. So, she gave me the task of decorating the noticeboard in the centre and the one outside. She also hoped that I can teach the kids music. So can I assume that I’m accepted for this job? But pay wise will be kinda low. But I really enjoy the times with the kids. Times seemed to fly faster.
After my interview was the tea break session. The vice principal told the kids to greet me. Cool!! And I had tea break with them, chatting with them. They are cute please, and even gave me a cartoon character- bumble bee. But understanding baby language is a lil tough? Cause while communicating with the kids, I cant figure out what they are saying. I asked them to repeat. But so as not to disappoint them, I pretended that I understand what they say and nod my head occasionally.
I cant wait 24 november to come!! I’m gonna take care of the kids, teach them, educating them the right values.. Gosh..and as the time draws near, I will have to start learning the songs that kids nowadays listen, and the famous cartoon characters..
Today is Giselle’s 1 year old birthday!! My princess niece! Giselle was born on 25 August 2008. When she was in her mummy’s tummy that time, she listened to my singing when I visit my cousin to bake cakes and cookies.. And now, it’s been a year!
Last saturday (27 August) afternoon, I went to Giselle’s birthday party! The whole function room was filled with children’s laughter, kids running around the room. The helium balloons made the whole function room colorful!
Kids always brighten my mood and make my day (without fail).
Kids,
they never fail to put a smile on my face. Away from work, away from adults, away from friends. I just throw everything away, every vexing things and spent my afternoon with my nieces on Saturday(080809). In the afternoon, I went to Sophia’s 1 year old bday party. There were kids in the room running around and I managed to take some many of their photos.
On sunday, before I met my shepherd, I saw this coffee bean mascot walking around Ion Orchard and many kids(including my shepherd and I) went up and took a picture with it. It’s really amazing how a mascot can make many people smile. Not only kids, but also adults. I think the job of the mascot wearer is very noble in some way. They have to stay inside the stuffy and smelly mascot and moving around the place. I find the job is very meaningful that really changed my mindset of mascot wearer. If you have any mascot-wearing lobang, CALL ME, CALL ME! I dont mind even if the pay is low.
Enjoy the photos below. My 3 nieces – Sophia, Gabrielle and Giselle.
