Happy Lemon went to Ion Orchard
August 18th, 2010 Posted 6:25 pm
Last Wednesday 11 August 10, I had shepherding with LiPing. As promised, I wanted to give her a treat for her birthday. Buffet Poh doesn’t like any presents but food will be the best. So I brought her to Ion Orchard B4. The place is called Tonkatsu Ginza Bairin.
According to Ion Orchard, Tonkatsu Ginza Bairin is a Tokyo Ginza-based specialty Tonkatsu (breaded pork cutlet) restaurant offering a variety of signature dishes that have been kept true for three generations. Established in 1927, Ginza Bairin was the first Tonkatsu restaurant in Ginza. One dish that fascinate me is Katsu Sandwich. Can you imagine the fried pork cutlet sandwiched by two slices of bread? I wonder how it taste like.
So we placed our order at the counter and were served within the next ten minutes. We ordered the meal set which includes the katsu, rice and miso soup. During lunch, liping told me that I’m changing my shepherd to Jesline. It’s kinda expected actually. So next week, I’m going to have my last shepherding with liping and first shepherding with Jesline this Sunday.

After lunch, we went to Happy Lemon to grab a drink. Happy Lemon originated from Hong Kong and Singapore is the first country in SEA to establish a Happy Lemon franchise. They have different categories of drinks such as the Lemon Series, Specialty Drinks, Tea Latte, Mousse Spin, Fresh Tea, Cocoa & Coffee and Rock Salt Cheese. The price ranges from $2.30 to $5.50 and serves two sizes – the regular and jumbo size. You can also personalised your own drinks by adding your own pearl sago, Nata De Coco, extra shot of coffee etc.

After that, we walked around Orchard area, and to far east. Wanted to buy my shades and cap but in the end, I got a pair of weaved sandals together with liping – our couple shoes which look like this but in white color
.

After shopping, went for unit meet. It was talking about forgiveness and it was really very relevant to me especially after experiencing some hurts from people. Luke 7:47 was preached again, like what liping told me previously. “Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—for she loved much. But he who has been forgiven little loves little.”

[280310] Family Lunch at Sa Bai Dee
April 4th, 2010 Posted 10:30 pm
Last Sunday, the whole family went to somewhere near Tiong Bahru market to have our lunch together. My da ge’s gf suggested this restaurant called Sa Bai Dee which sells all the Thai cuisine since my mum likes Thai Express alot.
So, we ordered a set meal for five. We were first served coconut drink. The dishes came out slowly, one by one. My eyes grew bigger and bigger, mouth opened wider and wider when I saw prawns on every dish. Had a very full lunch and I almost puked out. It’s really scary to have prawns and squids throughout the whole lunch.
Get ready to puke when you see the photos.

After lunch, I left with my daddy and mummy cause we wanted to go NTUC to buy grocery while my da ge and his gf will head back home first. But on the way out, I decided to go home. Tried to call my da ge to stop at the nearby bus stop so that I can take his car. In the end, he didnt pick up. We came to the traffic stop and my da ge’s car was beside my dad’s car. For that few seconds, I did the most dangerous stunt by alighting my dad’s car and swiftly opened my da ge’s car door and sat it. Haha.. Though it’s like cool to do it, I WILL NOT DO IT AGAIN. I wonder how the drivers behind us were thinking about me.. woops..

Girls Night Out
March 14th, 2010 Posted 6:45 pm
Haha.. I’m at sher’s house using her macbook to blog. Had stayover at her house. Yesterday after service, went to Thomson’s Prata house with sher to meet clar for supper. We went off from HSR and took the bus to TPY interchange and changed to another bus that will bring us to the Prata House. However, the waiting time for that particular bus was freaky damn long. We reached around 1015pm.
Then, met Claris at the bus stop and we went into the Prata House. Since it was a saturday night, there was a lot of people. But we managed to find table for three. I had one crispy prata and one cheese egg prata. Wanted to order my favorite tissue prata but I was very full then. We also shared mutton soup together. Chatted for quite some time, updating each other. Soon, I was way to dozing off. So, we paid the bill and went to our next stop.

So, we crossed the road to Liquid Kitchen to have a drink. I think it was already 12 plus. Chilled out, chatted till 1 plus. I had this cocktail – Snowball. It was a great recommendation by the staff there. But the alcohol level wasnt high.

After drinks, we cabbed back home and took turns to shower. While waiting for the hair to dry, each of us hogged onto either laptop or desktop. Uploaded our photos up to Facebook. Then, we continued our girls’ talk all the way till 330am and we went to sleep.
I really had a very sweet dream about my jayfeelalike. Gosh, I should go to Sher’s house often to have such nice dream. :X
Woke up 9am but we laze around till 10am. After that, we went down for breakfast at mac. Initially we wanted to make egg tarts but I think all of us is very tired. Now I’m back at sher’s house after a full Egg McMuffin Meal. Going IT fair later.
Simply loving our LBDs & CT outing. We are always busy with our own studies and work. But finally we have time to meet up each other, furthermore my last prelim paper was yesterday. I’m gonna give myself 2-3 days of break before heading back to the notes.
Char bohs, really glad that we met up for supper and had the heart-to-heart talk. Cant wait for our next outing man,
Muacks my LBD and CT.

My Fruity Haul
March 5th, 2010 Posted 12:06 pm
Yes, this week I’m going healthy. This is because I found my new toy! It’s the fruit blender that my mum bought. It’s small, conveniently cool. For the past few days, I had fruit juices after every meal. This is my little fruity haul:

My favorite is still my Avocado Milkshake. In the past, I dont like to drink or eat avocado but until someone told me that avocado is good for complexion, I convinced myself to drink it and it’s really yummy! But, avocado is fattening! It’s healthy fat. (:

Then, I tried other juices like papaya milkshake.

I cant wait for my fruits to ripe and I will have mango milkshake, watermelon milkshake.

When I’m just too lazy to blog..
March 3rd, 2010 Posted 8:58 pm
Twitter will be a good place to know my daily updates:

All these weeks, I’ve been coughing like crazy since Chinese new year. On and off, I will have nose bleed or flu. It was a terrible feeling especially when I need to study for prelims and exams
in the midst of studying, I went for a job interview and had reunion dinner after that. It was 23 feb and the reunion dinner started very late. We started around 9pm as we were waiting for da ge’s gf to knock off from work.
During my work, I got to know that one of my boy, Isaiah is leaving the school. Though he does not belong to the class that I’m in charge, he is someone who leaves a very great impression. If you have been following my blog/tweets, you should have known that Isaiah is a boy who came to hug me on my first day of work. He was crying desperately and when he found me, he kept hugging me and didn’t want to go back to his class. Since then, every morning when he saw me, he will greet me with his cheerful smile. And sometimes, he will look for me, crying. I can’t bear him leaving.
but I know that he is going to somewhere better.
Then last Saturday, 27 feb after service, went to Pan Pacific Hotel for family dinner to celebrate my big aunt’s 60th bday. Played with my nephew and cousins.
Let’s take a look at the food:

After the dinner, I felt burdened and wasn’t feeling great. Took some time to digest and I just find that it just too hard to accept. My close friends should know what happen.
God, give me strength and courage.

The fourth year of baking the pineapple tarts
February 13th, 2010 Posted 10:05 am
If you’ve been following me for the past three years, you would know that baking pineapple tarts is an annual thing for me. Without fail, I baked it again this year.
On Saturday (23 Jan), my cousin came and fetch me to buy the ingredients for the pineapple tarts. It tested my physical ability to carry 8kg of pineapple filling. We got items like pineapple filling, flour, icing sugar, eggs. The ingredients and steps are the same like the previous years.
Let’s take a look at some photos I took.

One thing that’s different this year was we used another method – the emulsification method for two of our batches. Normally, we will use the rub-in method. Guess how many did we made? 200+!!
We started around 11am and ended around 8pm. After that, I played with my nieces. They are so cute.

On 31st Jan, I made my pineapple tarts again with my mum at home. We also tried new item- Peanut Cookies.
Peanut Cookies
Fried Peanuts (grinded finely) : 500g
Plain Flour (sifted) : 500g
Fine Sugar : 400g
Peanut Oil : 500g
Method:
1. Mix grinded peanut, plain flour, fine sugar, in a big mixing bowl
2. Slowly mix in peanut oil till form into a soft dough
3. Form into small balls, place onto a greased baking sheet, and glaze with beaten eggs
4. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180°C for about 25 mins till golden. Remove, leave to cool before storing.

Chilli Padi Nonya Cafe
December 24th, 2009 Posted 10:08 am
Yesterday (23 Dec 09) evening, received a phone call and headed down to bugis. We had a gathering with the ex-colleagues. Its been a long time.. The last time we met was at Timbre, drinking and chilling. Thank Eddy for organising the gathering. There were Lynn, JiaYi, Sheryl, Eddy, AhHongJieJie, Mei, Cheryl, Thomas and Sheeren.
We had our dinner at Chilli Padi Nonya cafe. It’s located at North Bridge Road. It is actually a Peranakan buffet style. One person will only need to pay $17.24 and you can enjoy a great variety of food. It’s really worth it.
We started our dinner at 730pm and left around 10pm when we were ‘chased’ out of the cafe as it was closing for the day. We chatted (gossiped) a lot. Took some photos using eddy’s samsung camera. Everyone was facinated by the functions of the camera. Got beauty mode (which will capture your photo with flawless face), smile detection mode(the camera will automatically snap your picture once you smile), self portrait mode(you can take your own picture as there’s a screen beside the lens, and you can see your own face). Cool right? It’s 12.2 megapixel and touchscreen. It’s damn cool please.
Took train back with Lynn, Sheryl and Jiayi.

After that, we shopped around marina square and I spent $50+ at Watsons. Did I mention before that I cleared my shoe rack? I’m seriously in need of flat shoes. All I have is heels and can you imagine wearing that 2 inches high heels to shop around? Alright, I really need to squeeze some time out to buy my shoes.
Then, I had my full body therapy – head to toe. Felt so refreshed after that. Put on my facial mask and went to bed around 12+am. When I woke up at 3am, I looked out from the window. Guess what I saw? STARS!! There was really a lot of stars that night. I think there’s more than 10 of them. Super nice!! How I wish I got a mat and lie down on it to gaze upon the stars.
Sunday, 29 November was my grand-aunt’s 92nd bday. Went to my auntie’s house in the afternoon to have lunch and bday celebration. Played with the kids there.

Tonight, the stars came out to dance.
They lighted up the dark night, adding more colors to the sky.
They accompanied the moon,
just like how they accompanied the lost souls tonight.

I’m a happy girl if I got…
November 21st, 2009 Posted 1:16 pm
Egg tarts from chinatown..

and Frosted Chocolate Malt from Swensen..

Frosted Chocolate Malt ice cream with marshmallow topping, hot fudge and chocolate balls.
YES YES! Really have craving for this two. A few weeks ago, my neighbour bought us egg tarts at Sago street, off Smith street. It’s the best egg tarts I ever had since young. The tart skin is very crispy and the egg is very smooth (as if you are drinking from it). Yummie Yummie..
Had shepherding on wednesday (18 nov) and I suggested to chill out at Swensen. Haha.. I had the craving since tuesday.
