Visit to the new office

Alright, back to blogging about last tuesday (3 November 2009). Had lunch appointment with my ex-colleagues. They have shifted to the new building and this is my first time going to the new office. Initially I wanted to bake durian puff for them but I didnt have the time to do it. In the end, I got a cake from the bakery downstairs and headed to Paya Lebar.

Wow.. the new office is very nice and big. They have more discussion rooms and they got a very big pantry (or I should say a cafe). Managed to tour around the whole office before heading for lunch. Because of me, they decided to have lunch at lorong ah soo since I miss the food there. I had my favourite fried fish bee hoon soup from the attitude auntie. Then, I got my avocado fruit juice. (but i still prefer the one at kovan. 30 cents more to enjoy heavenly stuff..) Catching up with my colleagues and the bus ride back to the office was enjoyable. Very funny as we kept laughing about the things around us.

Then, I went back home to study. Initially had another outing with Kayan to watch The Sisters’ Keeper but she couldnt make it.

Thursday, 5 November had cg.

Saturday (7 November), supposed to have shepherding but end up having mass shepherding with my shepherd and caixuan. We had lunch at Subway before heading to RELC for my first experience in MM serving. Haha.. it’s like after 3 months and I’m finally back and ready to serve in MM. I partnered with Edmund. The night before, I was waiting for the sermon outlines to come in so that I can do the powerpoint slides. In the end, I managed to finish it by 140am saturday. Haha.. Sister MeiJuan was also with me on saturday to guide me, starting from the setting up of the projector, to using the ppt software for clicking. Okay.. need to serve again on 21 November. JIA U!!

Sunday (8 November), woke up super early to go down to the flea market. My cousins, her friend and I had a booth at China Square central, selling brand-new clothes or second-hand clothes. I only got 1 bag and the rest got few bags.

My purpose of joining this fleamarket is not really about earning money but gaining experience. We sold clothes like $2 per piece?! and it really drew a lot of people to come.(unlike the one I joined a yr ago) In the end, I earned $17 by standing from 1030am to 6pm. In the midst, I took my little nephew out to walk around the other booths at the flea market.. He’s very cute okay?! Holding on to his little little hands…

Anyway, today marks the first day of my Project 2200. Haha.. not gonna blog about it here. If u want to know, nudge me

Angels of love

I would never imagine myself being a childcare teacher in my life. But in 2 weeks time, I’ll be one. I’ve been looking for part time job soon after I ended mine in august. Random idea of working in the childcare centre appeared to my mind. So on thursday (29oct), I called up the childcare centre below my house block to check if they are hiring part timers. And I went down for interview on monday (2nov). The vice principal interviewed me and got to know that my passion is music and designing. So, she gave me the task of decorating the noticeboard in the centre and the one outside. She also hoped that I can teach the kids music. So can I assume that I’m accepted for this job? But pay wise will be kinda low. But I really enjoy the times with the kids. Times seemed to fly faster.

After my interview was the tea break session. The vice principal told the kids to greet me. Cool!! And I had tea break with them, chatting with them. They are cute please, and even gave me a cartoon character- bumble bee. But understanding baby language is a lil tough? Cause while communicating with the kids, I cant figure out what they are saying. I asked them to repeat. But so as not to disappoint them, I pretended that I understand what they say and nod my head occasionally.

I cant wait 24 november to come!! I’m gonna take care of the kids, teach them, educating them the right values.. Gosh..and as the time draws near, I will have to start learning the songs that kids nowadays listen, and the famous cartoon characters..

Spacious but weird

On Tuesday (27 October), headed down to Cathay to meet my shepherd for facial. It just happened that we got the complimentary facial from the same facial shop. We supposed to do our facial at 330pm but my shepherd was late. So waited for her till 5pm and went facial together.

For the 1.5 hours waiting time, I sat on the cushy sofa at level 5, either preparing my P&W or looking out the window stone-ING. The waiting time caused me to go bored, bored-er, bored-est. Then, finally my shepherd came and we went to do our facial.

My first impression of this facial shop was boo boo (I’m not going to name it). First, the place looks very spacious and big but it gives me an “empty” feeling. They have the furniture and stuff but the feeling is weird. And  I thought the interior design of the shop kinda weird too. Like out of nowhere, there’s this pillar wrapped with gold silky cloth?!  Second, behind the reception, there was this big painting on the wall of a girl with this eerie look riding an unicorn. It seems like the girl is staring at me. Third, the beauty therapists there do not look like one. They did not present themselves well. Not only that, I think their service was not good? Cause when I came alone at 330pm to check with them if there’s any later time slots for my shepherd and I,. They took donkey years to get back to me, like 15 minutes to get back to me whether I can have the facial at a later time (when there was not many customers there for them to attend to). In the end, I had to walk up to them to ask again.

Alright, after facial, we faster ran to take the MRT to meet Benson and caixuan to go to Ryan’s house for cg. Fourth time leading worship, and the first time to lead 2 praise songs and 2 worship songs. hiong ar~~
