Ishi Mura!
June 16th, 2009 Posted 1:20 pm
On last thursday (11 June 2009), I met up with my freshman Kayan for retail therapy. We walked around PS from shoe shops to clothes shops and then we stopped at Marks and Spencer. The food corner is really very attracting, shortcakes, digestive biscuits, almond biscuits, cereals etc. We paced around from racks to racks, trying to decide what to buy. While browsing, our saliva keeps salivating.
In the end, we decided to spend our $11.50 on the biscuits.
After that, we had our dinner at Ishi Mura. Located on the third floor of PoMo Centre (formerly known as Paradiz Centre) at Selegie Road, is this Japanese-themed foodcourt.

Ishi Mura is brought to you by Suki Group of Restaurant which owned Japanese Restaurants such as Suki Sushi, Yuki Yaki, Sakura, Nihon Mura. Ishi Mura offers fresh, quality and affordable Japanese Cuisine.

In this foodcourt, there are several stalls and all selling different dishes. There are 9 stalls to choose from and they have their individual menu varies from Donburi, Pasta, Pizza, to Bento, Omelette Rice, Okonomiyaki and Ramen. The drink stall not only sells drinks, but also Japanese tidbits.

I had Curry Chicken Katsu (but blur me, didnt take photo of my own food but others). I think the portion of my food is quite big that I couldn’t finish it :-p Anyway, there’s a promotion at Ishi Mura. If you dine with them any day and anytime within 2:30pm to 5:30pm, you get a Buddy Meal at S$13.80 nett.

Busy Woman

Last week was a very hectic week for me even though exams are over. Hectic because holiday is a time when you can catch up with friends, do things you like, to recharge before the next term starts.
2 June 2009 (Tuesday)
Had shepherding and shopping(since GSS just started not long ago) with my shepherd.

After Gelare, we started our shopping madness. We shopped along CityLink to Marina Square. I bought two pair of heels for $49.90. It supposed to be S$49.90 per pair but it was buy-one-get-one-free. I couldnt resist the temptation and bought it though I have a lot of heels at home.

Then we went Muji and I bought this Hibiscus and Fruit tea bag.

After so long, I finally have the time to bring my mum to do facial. It was our first time doing facial and I treated my mum for facial as a post mothers’ day present and a pre birthday present. The whole process lasted for 3 hours and we really enjoyed the facial. Really can relax as the music plays on. I think the facial is worth it because my face was treated with a lot of masks, and auntie was very generous in applying the solutions on our face. Besides facial, it also comes with facial and neck and shoulder massage. Cool! And this is the final mask that I had on my face. It is a hard mask and my skin felt tingly.

After that, we stopped by Tangs to try our luck if we can get our Clarins Free 10 Day supply. And luckily we are able to get it. I got the Clarins Pore Minimising Serum while mum got the Double Serum Generation 6. Check out my beauty blog soon as I review the product I have on hand.
4 June 2009 (Thursday)
Went to John Little Sale and Popular Sale at Expo with BenTay. and in the end, I was the one spending money. Luckily the damage was small. I spent $14.20 on Yamakawa Chocolate Biscuit, Loreal Lip and Eye makeup remover, and Caramel Corn. After that, we went Tampines to shop around before meeting the caregroup for dinner. After dinner, we went arcade to play. Woohoo.. I got to play Daytona again. But only two people can play.

Making of Maurise’s 21st bday card. It all started with a shoe box (and it’s clean one..HAHA.. cos I got a lot of new shoes) and I painted it yellow on the outside and inside. Pasted colored papers on a cardboard and painted everything black. Decorated the four sides of the shoebox. Used my cosmetic cotton wool and make it fluffy for the base. Cut stripes of colored papers. Painted the cover of the shoe box and got the inspiration to draw something on it. So, I used some strokes and created the leaves.

6 June 2009 (Saturday)
Had CG lunch and mini celebration for Maurise. Service, then to Jasmine’s party at Pasir Ris Park.
7 June 2009 (Sunday)
Had family lunch and back home to entertain by singing karaoke. I was super tired but had to do so.

Met Jie Ai at Pasir Ris and went together for Maurise’s bday party. Got to know more about Jie Ai when we took a stroll around the Condo. And I got another buddy who likes to buy shoes and cosmetics, and all about Boys over flower.

[Version8.2] The Sheepish Sheep
June 8th, 2009 Posted 8:22 pm

Yeah. Finally I’m done with my blog template. It is a completely revamped one as I started everything from scratch. It took me 5 days to do the design, solving technical problems etc. It was a terrible experience staring at the codes for the entire day till night and could not figure out what are the problems.
Actually, I should have finished designing on the second day. Everything was okay when I use firefox to view. But once I switched to Internet Explorer, the frames started to go haywire. That’s why I redo the entire design again and try to solve the problem. CSS stylesheet works different in internet explorer and firefox. I need to modify the codes such a way that IE and FF will work nicely for both. Luckily being a full-time web designer isnt what I want as I know that designing can be my passion, but not something to earn a living.
For the start, I redesigned the banner and used back the sheep image I got for my previous design. And drew 4 boxes. One for the sidebar, one for the entry box, and two of them is placed above the entry box which I place my Recent Tweets and About there. And Ive decided to stop using Plurk.com to update my tweets and used back Twitter. It is much user-friendly that I placed my tweets at the top of the page(instead of sidebar like the previous design). Did you also realize that I’ve changed the short writeup on introduction of myself?
I’ve also changed the default wordpress emoticons from

to
:@ :U :t :k :-$ :q :3 :m :0 :*
8-O

3+ more months to our shepherdy sheepy day and it is on the saturday. We are gonna to celebrate our 1 year anniversary today.
And also, for my future posts, I will have this “Current Mood” thingy at the end of the post. I’ve designed different emotions of the sheep that I can use to describe my mood of the day. There are a total of 17 sheepy emotions.

Waraku Japanese Casual Dining
June 1st, 2009 Posted 1:18 am

Waraku in the Japanese language connotes “Peace and Harmony” and it aspires to provide each and every customer with a memorable dining experience that delivers excellent cuisine, impeccable service and beautiful ambience; all at a reasonable price. “WARAKU” consists of two Chinese characters, “wa” meaning “harmony” and ‘raku” meaning “enjoy”. When transliterated into Japanese characters, it looks like the Chinese words 和乐.
On Saturday, after our bowling session, we went to Waraku to have our dinner. When we reached, there was a queue. Luckily we booked advance (since we have a big group) and it cut short the waiting time. I was pretty impressed with the posh surroundings we were led to our table.

Waraku Japanese Restaurant has been bringing authentic Japanese cuisine from Kyoto prefecture in Japan to a loyal and growing following of Japanese expatriates and locals alike. Waraku Japanese Restaurant appeals to both businessmen and families with its wide variety of imported udon, ramen noodle, soup base and sauces, as well as the kaminabes (or mini hot-pits).

I’m a happy girl when there are many people going to eat together. This means that I can try more food, and means.. more photos for food entry.

Tonpei Yaki (S$7.80)
Pork and Cabbage Omelette.
It is hot from the outside, cold in the inside. Shredded cabbage with sliced pork meat, dressed in Okonomiyaki sauce and mayonnaise. A mixture of sweetness and saltiness. You can share this with your friends and get a modest proportion of it.

Gyu Yanagawa Set Meal (S$16.00)
Sliced beef & egg in heating pan with Udon, Rice, Pickles and Appetizer.
The set comes with simmering raw beef, raw egg, a bowl of Udon, rice, and potato salad. The Udon was the usual chewy.

Kaminabe Kinoki Ramen (S$9.80)
This Tomato Ramen is not on the main menu. Seasionally, Waraku will offer something outside of their menu. For this season, it’s the tomato ramen season. The proportion of this ramen is quite small. If you are not hungry, you can have this.

Chicken and Cream Croquette Wazen (S$16.80)

Oyako Wazen (S$16.80)
Chicken and egg in heating pan with rice, pickles, tempura and Salmon Sashimi. Oyako means chicken and egg.

Seafood Curry Udon (S$14.80)
Seafood with curry udon.
See the bowl? It’s bigger than my face. Why do they need such a big bowl for a normal size serving? Everything inside the bowl was “enlarged”. Take a look at the seafood. Squid, prawns are larger than what I usually eat. The udon is nice and chewy.

Hot Udon and assorted tempura with hot dipping sauce.

Minestrone Udon (S$12.80)

The udon is nice and chewy.

Petit Ice cream (S$6.80)
Since there were 5 girls, we played a game and the first winner got to choose the mochi icecream first. I tried the chocolate one, which is at the left side of this picture. When you slowly let your tongue rest on the ice cream, the outer coat broke and chocolate syrup started bursting out to your mouth.

Mocha Ice cream cake (S$6.80)
I dont really like the taste as I dont really like green tea. I find that the combination of mocha icecream with the corns and red beans weird. They just didn’t integrate in well.
