Another damage to my pocket
June 30th, 2009 Posted 10:23 pm
Today, I bought Zirh’s perfume and Terry’s lipgloss.

ZIRH’S signature fragrance is fresh, clean and masculine — a simultaneously cool and spicy scent with notes of lime, green mandarin, Siamese ginger, nutmeg and more. It comes in a glass spray bottle encased in a sleek brushed aluminum canister. So I bought for my brothers. Hope they would like it.
As for myself, I got by Terry‘s Gloss De Perle. Concentrate of freshwater pearl extracts to add anti-aging, regenerating, hydrating and smoothing properties. This sumptuous lip lacquer redefines the shape of lips with shimmering reflections. The non-sticky texture catches the eye with its unique luminosity. Retail price is $71 per stick, but I got it at a cheaper price.

Robinson Sale @ Expo
June 29th, 2009 Posted 9:52 pm
After a long day at Pasir Ris Park, I met my shepherd for shepherding at East Point Mall after lunch with my og. After my shepherd had her lunch, we went to the dessert stall and I saw my YJT and we talked for quite some time! :-$
After shepherding, I went straight to expo and waited for Jolene and we went to Robinsons Sale. It was the fourth day of the sale and luckily there not a lot of people. So we walked around and also tested quite a few fragrances. Haha.. two more perfumes that I like – Nina Ricci’s Pretty Ricci and Adidas’s Fruity Rhythm.

and this is my $56.70 total damage.

This is the chocolate biscuit that bentay suggested me that time when we went to John Little’s sale. So now, I bought 2 boxes at $3.50 each to stock up.

This is Loreal Lip and Eye makeup remover. It costs $13.90 but after 40% discount, I got it at $8.90. I already got one when I bought it at JL’s sale. So I just bought this to stock up.

I’m using Bio-essence’s Tanaka facial foam and night renewal cream. I have been eyeing for this Tanaka White & Firm Double Action Essence since the John Little’s sale. But I finally bought it after some evaluation of the product. The retail price was $33.90 and I got it for $24.90.

Kawaii Tokyo is the recent highly raved products at john little, BHG, Robinson. It’s a product 100% produced from Japan. Jo and I was walking around and the sales girl stopped us and apply the facial foam on my hand. I was like OMG as I didnt really want anyone to touch my hand after sampling those perfumes, facial products. Okay…so the sales girl compared the hand after the facial wash and the other hand which wasnt. There was a difference between the skin. My skin became fairer. Not sure if we should buy it, we moved to a spot and keep asking ourselves if it’s worth it. and in the end, we bought it together.

I wanna go Robinson Sale again. Anyone? I wanna drag er ge to buy his working clothes but he’s super busy this week.

First day of work
June 25th, 2009 Posted 8:30 pm
Just came home from my workplace. It’s super far but I managed to seize the opportunity to read my book. I reached there quite early and waited for my department door to open. The whole building belongs to my company and my department is at the level 3 right wing. For the whole day, I was orientated around the building. Looking at the products that my company promotes really tickle my heart. A lot of famous brand names that I can see everywhere I go.
My fellow colleagues are really easy going and my manager is very friendly. We went lunch together as a whole department. But it was inconvenient cause I need to take bus to other place to have lunch.
Work to me is like very scary, after all the briefings. tomorrow is my second day. Pray that everything will be okay. Anyway, from now on, I think I will start to adjust my sleeping time to 10pm and wake up at 7am. Sleep is important..
when I came back home, I opened the fridge and saw my LEMON BARLEY DRINK STOCKED UP!! it means i can have it everyday when I comes back home.. WAHAHA..

Sharp pain in my stomach
June 23rd, 2009 Posted 10:48 pm
The past week days, I didnt have much sleep cause of editing and mixing the song for my og’s performance. The only software that I used was Adobe Audition and it doesnt have the feature to add the beats and rhythms. So I had to source online and finding the single beats and rhythms and string them together. Dont try editing anything if you do not have the resources. I do not have my music keyboard to attach to my com, or any software. But in the end, I managed to complete it using two days and nights. *clap clap* I had a total of 5 versions of the music, and the one I like the most is version 3. But since it’s a team thing, I just follow what the ogl said.
Yesterday supposed to be a good time that I can sleep but i didnt have a good one. Halfway during the night, I felt sharp pain in my heart that something is pressing on me. I could not breathe much. And now, the pain shifted from the heart to the stomach.
Just now, I persuaded my parents to go PS with me to have Gelare. Er Ge drove us and to our dismay, Gelare PS was closed for some work construction. Super-ly OMG! It’s so nan de to drag my parents out to town to chill but my plan failed. In the end, we had dinner at kopitiam and went Selegie to have tau huay.
And now, Er Ge is having fever. God, heal him and heal me.
Less than 2 more days to my first day to work at this company. Wish me all the best. I may also want to take up some tuition teaching too. Maybe around my work area…

On Sunday (21 June 2009), I brought my family to Botanic Garden for our monthly family outing. We were supposed to go Marina Barrage but it was closed due to NDP rehearsals. It was my second time going to botanic garden. That time, da ge wasnt around, and now I managed to get all of them together. We brought along our camera tripod and took some family photos. You can check out my FB. The pose that my family was doing in the picture was arranged by me. HAHA.. I simply love taking photos.
After some time, it started to rain heavily suddenly. So we decided to make a move and we went Plaza Singapura to have our lunch at Xin Wang Cafe.

Black Pepper Beef Baked Rice (S$9.90)
It’s simply cheesy and yummy when it is still hot. The beef is well marinated. But daddy doesnt like this. I think it’s too westernized for him? ![]()

Seafood Papaya Noodles Soup (S$8.90)
The reason why I chose this was partly I want something soup-y. If you look clearly into the soup, you will see something orange floating above. You think it’s carrot. But when you start to bite it, it’s soft. It’s actually papaya. The taste of the soup is quite clear, not too flavored, just nice! But I find that the noodles are not very good. It lumps up together, not chewy.

The noodle is the same type as my seafood noodle. Not really that nice. The noodles lump here and there.

The sauce is tasteless and the noodle is a boo boo.

This is very dry. There’s no juice inside. I dont recommend this.

After lunch, we went to shop a little while as we bought leather shoes for er ge since he’s working soon. Then, I went Marks and Spencer to buy my biscuits (again). WAHAHA..
If you followed me via Twitter, you know that I got 36 new clothes in a day? Ya..just on this day, which was sunday, I got three bags full of clothes, mostly new clothes and with the price tag on.

I got my office wear too. The office kind of jacket which really came in the right time since I’m starting to work soon, counting down 2 more days. Excited and Anxious. All these clothes were given by Ah Hong Jie Jie (my cousin). My wardrobe is bursting!! I’m a fortunate little girl loved by many people.

Seriously…
June 22nd, 2009 Posted 12:14 pm
Seriously, somepeople need some self-reflections on their own attitudes. Recently, I’ve been asking myself some questions about peoples’ attitudes, peoples’ behaviors, how they can treat things and people in that particular way, the way they handle things, how their words can be a hidden sword to the other party.
As I started pointing fingers at other people, I started to question myself why didn’t I have the courage to tell people what is right and wrong, and my feelings towards certain things. Some things that people did had hurt me but I didn’t confront them and solve the problem. What more can I say when their stand has made and there isn’t a solution or a way that I can say “NO” to all these? I mean, since they forcefully think it’s this way, then fighting against them on my own is just plain waste of time.
I think I’m a mute soldier who will not call for help when I have an arrow piercing through my chest. I will just let the blood flow till someone sees me and saves me. I just run this inner battle in me, trying to figure things out.

New York New York [2]
June 19th, 2009 Posted 2:19 pm
On monday (15 June 2009), I went for my job interview. I got the notice only one day before. Though it just a part time job, I want to make everything perfect. Like what I did for my previous job interview, I actually rehearsed in front of the mirror and imagining myself in the interview setting. But this time round was quite rush as I didnt have enough time to prepare. If you’ve been following me on Twitter, you would know that the place that I’m going for the interview(also the place I will be working) is 19 mrt stops and 7 bus stops.
After my interview, I went all the way back and it was a 7 bus stops and 21 mrt stops to my next destination. I was supp0sed to meet up with Ah Hong Jie Jie and Emily for dinner and catch up. Since I was quite early, I shopped around. My all-time-favourite shops are Guardian, Watsons, Sasa, Face Shop etc. And this is my mini haul from Sasa:

The fake eyelashes that I bought is a Korean brand. There are 6 pairs of lashes at the price of $4.90. There were 3 different designs of eyelashes from this brand. Natural, Criss-cross and dramatic. I bought the criss-cross one as my friend said that it will look more natural.
After shopping for a while, finally met up with the rest and we decided to have our dinner at New York New York. The last time we met up was at Lot1′s NYNY. and now, it’s Jurong Point’s NYNY

Root Beer Float
S$7.90
Remember the good old days we have A&W restaurant? The first store opened at Dunearn Road in 1966. The chain’s Singapore operations dwindled by the beginning of the 21st century, and by 2002 it had only 7 outlets around the island. A&W finally closed in 2003. A&W was known for its Root Beer Float. Though A&W has closed down, you can still have a quick stop for an icy cold frosty mug of root beer float at New York New York.

Childhood Memories
June 19th, 2009 Posted 12:29 pm
Last friday (12 June 2009) after shepherding, met Ying Jie at Tiong Bahru before Er Ge came and drove us to Boys and Girls’ Brigade Sembawang campsite for our drama group’s 36 Anniversary. The last time I met Ying Jie was when we were together watching the drama by our drama group.
A little(haha.. actually not little) background of my connection with my drama group, YPPAE.
See the pictures above. It was taken at SBC, which is now known as Mediacorp. Can you see two familiar faces? One is my face, one is er ge’s face. Another two are my best childhood friends Wei Jing from the left and Jing Ting, the second from the left. Can say that we grew up together since young in the drama group. My brothers and I joined YPPAE together and attended speech and drama classes. Singing traditional folk songs, training us to speak perfect Chinese. Wei Jing has a elder brother who’s also in this drama group and good childhood buddy of my da ge.
YPPAE was under SBS(which became TCS, then Mediacorp). We were trained there in our performing skills, singing skills, speech skills etc and we got to had recordings in the recording studio.
My da ge and er ge outside SBC
In the recording studio.. Can you spot where was I?
And since young, when people are learning their ABCs, we attended all kind of classes and performed on many stages. Victoria Theatre, Drama Centre, Singapore Conference Hall, Esplanade etc.Try spotting where am I. Jing Ting is the one wearing red skirt. Wei Jing wearing blue shirt.
Our performance usually is on friday night all the way to sunday night. We had to skip some of our school classes in order to attend the rehearsals. Luckily our teachers and principals were supportive towards us. And when the rehearsals were stretched for a long day, we had packed rice to eat. Can you see my er ge? He showed a Thumbs-up for just a normal chicken rice. I guessed we were very hungry back then.
We even acted out in the dance-cum-drama thing. The whole theme was underwater world. I dressed like coral, and the green ones were seaweeds. From the left of the photo below were me, yingjie, xiaoran and i-dont-know-what’s-her-name. XiaoRan also joined in the drama group around the same time I joined. Her brother is good buddy of my Da Ge. Ive already lost contact with XiaoRan and I hope to see her again.
Can you spot where is my er ge (the photo below)?
Yup, me and xiao ran. (photo below)
We also acted the Journey to the West. It’s Xiu Wen and Ying Xi acting as Zhu Ba Jie and Sa Seng.
One of the performances was a musical performance. My Er Ge was the lead performer. The story was adopted from Qin Dynasty and I acted the palace ladies(together with LiYing, Xiao Ru and Min Ai). We not only had to act but also somersaults around with our super high platform shoes.
We even had cross talk performances for quite a few times, moving from drama centre to victoria theatre to esplanade. And there were eight “disciples” all together as described in the script to embark on the journey of learning techniques of cross talk.
My er ge, me and Jing Ting. When I was young, I already fell in love of being seen from the camera lens. I like to pose here and there. My signature pose is making my hands into the flower shape and place it in front of my chin.
The girl beside me (below) is Jing Ting. She’s my childhood buddy. We joined this drama group around the same time and she got a elder brother who also in the drama group. Jing Ting left the group when she was primary 6 while I still stayed on to Sec4. Since then, I stopped contacting her. If there’s a chance, I really want a reunion with her. Sadly that technology wasnt that advance last time. No friendster, no msn, no facebook. and now that she already shifted house.
It was a christmas party with my drama group. We were supposed to dress up. So, my mum used those trash bag and made it to an outfit for my fashion show. Haha.. my mum made the same kind of outfit for my halloween party last year.
Besides occupying my sunday in this drama group, I also joined dance club – Dance Ensemble Singapore. So sunday morning was dancing lesson, and then drama lesson in the afternoon. I stopped dancing when I was primary 6. And after some time, I joined Caligraphy class which substituted dancing in my sunday’s morning time schedule.
Mice Mice Mice.. Do you know which one is me?
Okay, back to the club’s 36th anniversary. So in the car, we catch-up with one another. When I reached there, Wei Jie Kor Kor saw me and teased me and called me “Ah Mei”. Wow.. feel so close when people called me this way. Since all of us grew up together, we treated one another as mei mei kor kor, and we know the parents very well. It’s like a big family like that. “Ah Mei” is my pet name used by my parents, brothers, close aunties and some drama friends whom I treat them as my kor kors and jie jies. But if my friends called me using this pet name, I think I will be pissed off. Haha.. so only authorised personnels are allowed.
We got to sit down and chatted. We began to sing some songs we learned in the group. So, I took out my phone and recorded the songs. The quality isnt that good and it’s the raw version of the recording. Sang by Yun Zhou, Jia En, my er ge and I. (so i think v. easy to spot my voice) I love the harmonizing which we didnt even plan as it supposed to be. I like the harmonizing from 2:30 to 4:27
Alright, gonna end off. YPPAE and Dance Ensemble Singapore were part of my childhood memories. I’ve posted more childhood photos on Facebook. Hopefully I can get to find back my long lost childhood friends especially Jing Ting and Xiao Ran.

My Spiritual Gift
June 16th, 2009 Posted 6:00 pm

On friday (12 June 09), I met with my shepherd for shepherding at Tiong Bahru Plaza’s Coffee Club. She gave me a few sheets of papers with 110 questions and told me to answer all the questions. I thought I would take a long time to do it but luckily it was just nice enough for me as I need to rush to BBGB Sembawang campsite. And this is my result:
- The first most prominent gift is the Gift of Mercy.
- Then, it’s the Gift of Administration.
- Then, it’s the Gift of Serving, and Gift of Pastor.
Gift of Mercy – <Romans 12:8> <Matthew 5:7> <Acts 9:36>
The special gift whereby the Spirit enables certain Christians to feel exceptional empathy and compassion for those who are suffering so that they can devote large amounts of time and energy to alleviate it. This ability to empathize with hurting people manifests itself into cheerful acts of service. The believer feels deeply for those with physical, spiritual or emotional needs and is motivated to take action to meet the needs. The actions taken reflect Christ’s love. The person with the gift of mercy will be drawn to exercise it among the needy, ill, the mentally impaired, the handicapped, shut-ins, imprisoned, bereaved, lonely, and others in troubled situations. It is revealed in the person’s being able to serve in the presence of human misery such as is so often seen among the poor, the sad, the afflicted and the abandoned. -extracted from synodresourcecenter.org
Gift of Administration – <1 Cor 12:28 > <Acts 14:23>
The special ability that God gives for understanding clearly the immediate and long-range goals of a particular unit of the Body of Christ and the ability to devise and execute effective plans for the accomplishment of these goals. The ability to organize and guide human activities in such a way that Christ’s program is carried out. -extracted from synodresourcecenter.org
Gift of Serving – <1 Cor 12:28 > <Romans 12:7> <Gal 6:2>
The special ability that God gives to certain members of the Body of Christ to identify the unmet needs involved in a task related to God’s work, and to make use of available resources to meet those needs and help accomplish the desired goals. With this gift the Spirit brings empowerment to willingly bear the burdens of other Christians so that they can do their tasks more effectively. The person who has this gift is able to work gladly behind the scenes in order that God’s work is fulfilled. There is a desire to help others in their ministries by aiding them in practical ways. -extracted from synodresourcecenter.org
Gift of Pastor – <Eph 4:11 > <1 Peter 5:1c-3> <1 Tim. 4:12-15>
The special gift whereby the Spirit enables certain Christians to assume a long-term responsibility for the spiritual welfare of a group of believers. It involves overseeing the spiritual lives of others and care for their spiritual needs by teaching and guiding them toward maturity. The believer with this gift will have the confidence, capability and compassion to provide spiritual leadership and direction for individuals or groups of individuals. -extracted from synodresourcecenter.org
Alrites, sidetrack a bit, I got this book as a gift from somebody last wednesday. The title of this book is “More than a carpenter” by Josh Mcdowell and Sean Mcdowell. I’m still reading it.

你还爱我吗 – 蔡依林
Recorded on 30 March 09
