A day of bowling and birthdays
May 31st, 2009 Posted 8:29 pm
Yesterday after Unit GFG at Sharon’s house, I headed straight to town to meet MIAKE peeps. Saw CJ and we waited for the rest. After that, CJ, Jun Long and I walked to Marina Square to meet the rest. Really thank JunLong cause he helped to carry my heavy bag for me all the way to Marina Square. I was almost half-dead after sleeping for only 3 hours for the day. We went to SuperBowl but couldnt get two lanes for us. While waiting, we went to arcade and played Daytona.

We(Me, Sherlynn, Shirley, Cui Jun, Edith, Tze Kiat, Jun Long and Leong) occupied the whole row of the Daytona machine. The whole arcade was filled with our screams, talkings, laughters. We were screaming at the top of our lungs to the extend that I can lose my voice the next moment. We were just in our own world racing the cars, and screamed when we bumped to each other.

Then we went back to Superbowl and checked if our lanes were ready. Then, we got our lanes and get ready to play. I learned bowling during physical education in my JC times. That time, we always go to The Chevrons to have our bowling lesson. So after 2 years, I’m back to the lane to play bowling.

But I can say that my bowling was cui. Luckily we had two games. My first game was super cui. When I say cui, it’s super cui. It is as if I’m competing to get the most “-”. But luckily I got to pick up and did quite okay for the second round. This is my second round result (last row). I’m the “J”.

After bowling, we went Waraku Japanese Restaurant for dinner. Remember the trip I went to Mr Curry? They all belong to Waraku. 8 of us had dinner and continued our chat. We also organised a surprise birthday party for Leong and Tze Kiat. Since the guys are only available on weekends due to their NS, we had this surprise birthday party for them together.

After that, we played zhong ji mi ma, and had forfeit for the “lucky” one. One of the forfeit was this:

It is icy-cold green tea. After that, we walked around Marina Square while digesting the food in our stomach. As the rest wanted to watch movie, we went up to book the ticket. Something caught my eye and took my attention towards it.

IT’S HELLO KITTY. I wanted to try but after seeing the many failed attempts by strangers, I demolished the idea of playing it. But the hello kitties are sooo cute.
I was super tired and shagged. So I went off earlier than the rest. In the end, I went back home and edited, uploaded the photos. And I slept for 10 hours after that until this morning.

On Thursday, Sher came to my house for karaoke. We took turns to sing while I tried to sing and imitate the singers. WAHAHA..It was fun. After singing for quite sometime, sher decided to watch Boys over Flowers with me. We were Gu Jun Pyo-ING. I was left with a few more episodes. I was in a dillemma of whether should I watch finish the whole show asap or watch it slowly. I dont want to watch it too fast because I think I will miss it a lot. ARGHX..
And sher brought my F.A.S.T shampoo.

Anyway, dont you find that the plots of these love stories the same all the time? You got one girl and two guy. Guy A and Girl are enemies, bickering with each other every time they meet. Guy B is the kind of guy all girls will like – gentleman-like, charming, loving etc. Guy B likes Girl. But in the end, Guy A and Girl like each other through all-times bickering, and then found out the good points of one another. Then, they date with each other, happy ending. Dear scriptwriters, do you have better ideas?
Then on Friday, went out with my Loving Number 2 and Wannabe. It’s another Four-minus-one outing. Miss them so much please!! Sadly ning couldnt come. If not, we will have full attendance. I reached the airport quite early and went to T3′s viewing mall. A time I sorted out my thoughts and feelings.
We had our lunch at foodcourt and then went to Expo and prayed for the rest. Grand-shepherd came and we went Popular Sale. There were a lot of people there and we had to look for holes to “sneak” around. There was also John Little sale but I didnt go. After popular, we went back to airport. Since Grand-shepherd didnt have her lunch, we went back to food court. Jesline, JunYao and I started to decorate the card that we’re going to give for Kezia as farewell present. I got to drink my LBD too. Super happy!!
In the evening, the whole unit had dinner at Popeyes.

Then, we went rooftop to have the farewell party for Kezia. Wow..that night got many stars.. Stars stars, my favorite. Would be great if I have a mat with me?
Then after the whole thing, I went to Jesline’s house to bathe while the rest went to Sharon’s. So
to have a little private time for both of us. Then we went to Sharon’s hse. All of us wore in our pajamas and we played Gift Trap. The game was fun and lasted for quite sometime.

Through this game, we got to know more about each other. I’m really surprised that I didnt sleep during the stayover. I’m the type of person who will be the first few to sleep, who cant stay awake at night. While the rest was in their lala land, I was watching BOF. At around 7am plus when some of them woke up, we went to have our breakfast at Mcdonald. Then, the rest went back home to sleep and I went back to Sharon’s hse to catch some sleep. Then woke up again and went Cityhall to meet AKE peeps (see next entry).

Canele Patisserie Chocolaterie
May 31st, 2009 Posted 3:51 pm
Wednesday, met up with Calyn to chat and chill. We went Canele Patisserie Chocolaterie at Raffles City. This is my second time meeting her not because I’m sad or something bad happened to me. “Make sure the next time I meet you, it’s not because you are sad. I want to hear happy things from you.” This sentence striked me and I made this decision that I should stop depending on her too much and always look for her when I have problems.
This sister and Crystal have been taking care of me ever since I joined this church (2006 Christmas). We sat down at Canele and shared our lives, and learned some things from her.

Le Royale (S$7.00)
Chocolate mousse 66% layered with hazelnut feullitine, almond success and chocolate genoise with rum. The rich chocolate mousse was a lil bitter but smooth. The base of the cake is made of crunchy hazelnet feullitine. I couldnt really taste the rum. Canele should be more generous to it.

Triple Chocolate Cheese Cake (S$8)
Walnut chocolate fudge cake, chocolate chip cheese cake and dark chocolate chantily. I prefer this triple chocolate cheese cake to Le Royale. It is not as chocolatey as Le Royale and I didnt get sick of it after some mouthful of it.

Bushmen Brew(S$5.00)
An enticing brew of wild honey-scented flowering bush, with sweet honey overtones. The Bushmen Brew evokes calm and soothing sensations like chamomile and has flavours of honeysuckle fragrance.

My Revamped Makeup area

After evaluating the pros and cons of buying the 8 tier cabinet, I decided to get it. A few weeks back, I managed to persuade Daddy and brought me all the way to Toa Payoh Lor8, to Toyogo Wholesale Centre. Mummy tagged along because I told her it’s a place that she will fall in love with. And yes indeed. There are a lot of containers, those khongs, kling klings klang klangs that housewives will use.

We spent quite sometime there looking forthe good buys and this is what I bought.

This is a 8-tier cabinet with wheels attached to it. Then I went to buy the non-slip mat. Daiso Plaza Sing has only 1 pink non-slip mat. So i tried my luck to get it at Daiso IMM. But in the end, they also have 1 pink available. So in the end, I got one pink and four yellow slip mat.

One pack can use for two tier. So I cut them so to fit into the drawers. and tadang…

I’m replacing the hello kitty 3-tier cabinet I used for many years to this Toyogo 8-tier 3-tier cabinet. Actually, there’s a story behind this hello kitty 3-tier cabinet. I bought this when I was in lower primary at Causeway Point. HAHA.. I can still remember how I persuaded my mum to get this for me. Hello Kitty is my favorite cartoon character and I will go all the way for it. It just happened that I was shopping with my mum and I saw this hello kitty cabinet. I kept persuading my mum to get it for me but my mum said it’s very inconvenient for us to buy it and take the mrt. I told my mum not to worry and let me handle it. And Yes, I carried the whole cabinet home with me. The cabinet was the same height as me, or I was taller by a little bit. Should I say that I’m silly? Or..?
Before…

After…

The top: I put all those products I’ll use often at the top.

1st tier: All my makeup products. I’m very fortunate because a lot of my cosmetics are given by people as gift. Like the face shop’s eyeshadow, M.A.C mascara, M.A.C eyeshadow etc.

2nd tier: Fake eyelashies, glue, sample sized perfume and my favorite Escada Rockin’ Rio. The three cosmetics eyelashes you see on the right were taken from Beauty Show 2008 fair. Outside is selling at $15.90 per pair and I got all 3 of free!

3rd tier: On the top left hand, it’s a bag of eye contact covers. Top right is travel sized contact lens saline solutions. Sample size of contact lens solutions.

4th tier: Facial Cottons, facial removing wipes, makeup remover.

5th tier: Accessories – ear rings, necklaces, rings.

6th tier: Nail polishes ( a lot given as a gift to me) and bangles.

7th tier: (From bottom left) Ellips Hair Vitamin, BodyShop ShowerGel, Bio-essence facial foam, Clearasil cleansing foam, St Ives Exfoliating Scrub, Beauty Credit samples from Fr3b.com. I bought all of them when they were on sale.

8th tier: Party wigs, extension, party props given by my cousin.

Sa-nook! To enjoy and to have fun!
May 26th, 2009 Posted 4:25 pm
Sa-nook, means fun in Thai. It is the mission of Thai Express to want their customers to have fun.
Yesterday after meeting Shuning, MingHan and XinYi for lunch, I went Jurong Point for dinner with my family. I organised this dinner because it was a special day to us. To my parents, and to us. Without this day, there will not be the three siblings. Luckily everyone was able to make it (you know..it’s hard to get people to free up their time for family dinner). As I was early, I walked around JP before chopping the seats at Thai Express. And there, I saw familiar face. IT’S CRYSTAL!!
She was having dinner there with another sister. Okay, finally everyone reached and we ordered our food.
At Thai Express, diners can choose from a selection of eight different Thai Laksa. The popular ones are Nam Phrik Laksa and Green Seafood Laksa.

**Complimentary** Chicken Wings
Get this complimentary plate of Chicken Wings when you purchase S$30 at Thai Express and above and have any POSB/DBS cards.

IKEA Restaurant & Cafe
May 26th, 2009 Posted 2:24 pm
On Sunday (24 May 2009), I was revamping my room(another blog entry for this) and my phone rang.
ShuNing: Free to have lunch tmr?
Me: Hmmx.. two of us only? I’m free. But I thought you got class?
ShuNing: No,with ming han also, after school lor
Me: Where?
ShuNing: IKEA
Me: Woohoo.. OKAY!
Took the bus from home to IKEA. Since they will be late, I walked around IKEA, looking for exciting things I can use for my room. But soon, I was bored. IKEA can be a fun place only when your friends are around and can play with them.
Finally, ShuNing, Ming Han and XinYi came and we had our lunch at IKEA Restaurant & Cafe. This is my first time eating at the restaurant. The food prices are kinda steep. So in the end, we ordered the kids meal with a choice of either Pasta with Sauce or Burger. Ning and I had Pasta, Ming Han had Burger. This is how they look like:

Fish Burger Kids’ Meal
The serving was super small.

After our lunch, we walked around IKEA. Suddenly, IKEA became a playground for us to do stupid actions, take stupid photos. Check out Ning’s facebook once she uploads the photo. I think the “Photo-of-the-day” will be Ming Han’s portrait. MUAHAHA.. see it and you will know what I’m talking.
After walking around, we went to grab the ice cream at level 1. After that, we walked from IKEA to the nearest mrt station. Thanks Ming Han for walking us all the way to the station.
After that, I took the train to Jurong Point. I organised this family dinner at Thai Express. And Im gonna blog this in my next blog entry.

Ice Monster at Plaza Singapura
May 26th, 2009 Posted 12:18 pm

Originated in Taiwan in 1995, Mr Ice Monster decided to travel out of Taiwan, and to places such as Japan, China, Hong Kong, America and SINGAPORE to share the good news about this snow ice-desserts. This snow ice-dessert not only serves you shaved ice with different fruits, but also tops it with sorbet!
So you do not need to buy an air ticket to Taiwan and walk all the way to Yong Kang Street to try Ice Monster.
Ice Monster has two branches in Singapore. One is at Plaza Singapura, and another one at Bencoolen Street. This is like the expensive version of ice kachang. If you can afford, just give it a go. Ice Monster is famous for its Mango Shaved Ice.
Fresh Mango Sorbet
S$5.50
Mango is my favourite fruit. But I’m quite disappointed as it doesnt have the “wow” factor. I find that it’s kinda expensive to get this small bowl at S$5.50 where I can use this amount of money to get a bigger serving at Taiwan. Before eating, I hope that this can brighten my mood and it failed.

3 years ago, I was at Taiwan, traveling with friends from Jay Chou fan club, er ge and mummy. We were at ShiLin Market. The serving there was big and cheap. I miss Taiwan, the food, the TaiPei 101, the visit to Jay’s accessories and clothes shop.

Besides these Shave Ice, Ice Monster also sells a variety of ice blends and fruit juices. You can find main courses here like braised beef noode for $9.

Hip Diner USA
May 26th, 2009 Posted 12:04 pm
After my last paper, Maurise and I went Tampines for lunch, and I shopped the three shopping malls there. And this was my first time in Tampines to shop please.. Not including the not-shopping-de-shopping with my loving number 2 and wannabe. I was supposed to be
since my paper has ended. But nope. I was “floating” around the malls as ET took my mind away to the outer space. After shopping for sometime, Maurise joined back and we carried on shopping. I forced her to do something stupid =P. Haha.. dont know if I should post it up to the net. =P
Then, went Bugis to meet the rest of the cg for dinner. Alright, I need to say sorry to Sher. Cause actually im supposed to cook dinner for her at my house and karaoke marathon stayover at my house, and go Sentosa the next day. But in the end, I postponed to this week. The only evening she is free is on wednesday and the morning of thursday. But now, my caregroup is this wednesday. Pai seh sher, had to cancel our karaoke marathon and stayover. But I will still be going Sentosa with you on Thursday okay? SUNTAN!!
In the end, only bentay, liping and I were there. From NYDC, we changed our plan to Hip Diner USA as they are having 1-for-1 set meal promotion. *budget budget*

Hip Diner USA serves nachos, milkshakes, chilli and burgers and their menu is reminiscent of Billy Bombers, but they are much affordable.
Mixed Grill
Are you indecisive whether should you choose a bacon, a sausage, a dory fish or grilled chicken for the main course? Fret not! Mixed Grilled provides everything you desire. All in one plate! Mixed Grill set also comes with mixed vegetables, mashed potatoes and running and gooey sunny side up.

[Web Design8] Princess Ning’s blog
May 25th, 2009 Posted 10:50 pm
Princess Ning loves pink, loves Winnie The Pooh. This is the how I get the concept of the blog.

This is my second blogskin design I did after my exam ORD. The first one was for Maurise’s beauty blog, and now it’s ShuNing’s blog. I think she mentioned to me to help her design her blog after she saw the design I made for Alex. But I didnt have time to do it for her.
I spent the whole morning, sourced for nice pooh picture and got 3 of them.
This is where I get the bees, butterfly and honey pot.

This is where I get for the small pooh bear at the “here she writes”.

And this is the big pool bear and it’s taken from Sabaimitiaz.

And the balloons that small pooh were holding on is a picture from deviantart.

Basically, I created the background and layout of the blog, and then insert the css and html codes to the blogskin. Take a look at the animation for the steps I took in designing the background.

- I created a gradient background of light pink, light purple and white.
- The boxes for the blogger introduction, sidebar and entry column.
- Added glittery stars to the border of the blogger introduction box.
- Added the big winnie picture.
- Added the word “Princess Ning” and “Navigation”.
- Added in picture of the honey pot, bees coming out of the pot, butterfly.
- Added the word “Here she writes” and placed a small winnie at the top left hand side of the entry box.
- Then, the balloons for winnie.
And I hope she will like this surprise I’ve prepared for her. Muacks this sister lotz!!
