In 20 more minutes and we gonna say goodbye to 2008 and say hello to 2009. Let’s recall some remarkable things I’ve done in the year of 2008. This is the good thing of having blog. I can easily list down the events.
2008 Events
New Year Countdown: This day last year, I had my New Year Countdown at Nicholas house with my ex-unit. That time, the taiwanese drama (Dou Niu Yao Bu Yao) was showing and I was very high about He Jun Xiang. So, Crystal got me the PLAY magazine with Mike He in there.
Jay Malaysia Concert Design: I was told by the Jay2U(the official fan club) admin asked me to help them design a banner to draw people to buy the concert tickets.
My first office job: A place where I learned a lot of accounting stuff, get to know a lot of new friends, many socialisation activities, and visited a lot of good food places. (You can check it out at the Food paradise category.
Celebrated Jay’s birthday with him: Jay got two concerts and I managed to get the 18 Jan one with a group of Jay2u.com fans. We sang birthday song to him.
Kung Fu Dunk Premiere: Entitled to watch the premiere with a group of jay fans. We are the first 100 to watch this movie. Super Happy.
Company CNY Lunch: The food there’s super nice.
MIAKE In Harmony Concert: It’s my first time returning back to school to watch my ensemble. In the past, I performed to people. Now, I watch people performing.
A visit to Botanic Garden: My i-think-it’s-my-second-time to Botanic Garden. The first time I was there to take album shots. It’s like a family gathering w/o my da ge.
Chi-Teh Bing’s visit to my house: Okay, I hate and scared cats, but not the little Teh Peng. She came to my house because her owner went overseas. Teh Peng is a kitten found in NUS campus near E3A.
The current blog theme: On 19 September, I got my official shepherd – Li Ping. So I am the sheep. And also, I find sheep is very cute. I have a nickname as “Meh Meh” when I was in secondary school. It was because when I was in seconday two, I called my maths teacher “Ma’am” but it sounded like “meh”.
Launch of CG blog: Initiated to start this CG blog. So I started to design the template. Working with a few members – Maurise, Alex, Shawn, then Li Ping joined in. From tomorrow onwards, I’m gonna step down the position and to let others to take over. *Phew*
My last day at work: My last day at work after working for 10 months
Followed by Wala Wala: Went wala wala with my close colleagues after work on my last day of work. Simply loving the band at 10pm.
Wonderful Saturday and a date with MJ: Shopping with MJ and joined my ex-caregroup for dinner after service, and celebrated Ming Han’s birthday.
Musique Unifiante: CCA performance by the juniors and Ms Wee’s last performance as conductor.. She’s migrating to USA.
Christmas Season: Busy week and my second time serving in the IMAGE ministry.
2008 Reflections
This year aint my year. It’s a year that nothing went smoothly as what I wanted them to be. Hope 2009 will be a better year for me.
2008, my first year able to attend service constantly. In the past, I could not even go service.
2008, I have an official and formal caregroup. In the past when I’m still in high school, I was in my brother’s caregroup, on-and-off for 2 years.
2008, first time serving in ministry- IMAGE.
2009 Resolutions
A-S-K: Attitude, Skills, Knowledge
Attitude: To be approachable, and open up with people. Allow people to enter and talk into my life.
Skills: To master the arts of leading the caregroup/ any groups in games.
Knowledge: Know more about His Word and able to apply.

Live Performance of 倒带
December 30th, 2008 Posted 12:54 pm
Recorded on 17 December 2008 – CG Karaoke Outing

Halt! BRTC BB Cream arrived!
December 29th, 2008 Posted 4:45 pm
WOOHOO!! My mum agreed to buy BRTC‘s BB Cream for me. BRTC, also known as Bio Remedies Therapeutic Cosmetics. 2 weeks ago, I blogged about the different brands of BB cream and gave a brief evaluation of the BB Creams. Yesterday, mummy got BB Cream for me. I tested both BB cream from BRTC. They are Gold Caviar BB Cream and Whitening & Wrinkle Repair BB Cream. In the end, I bought the Whitening & Wrinkle Repair BB Cream as the lotion is closer to my skin tone. 50ml tube of BB Cream costs S$49.

Why I chose BRTC’s?
BRTC’s BB Cream ranked Number 1 above all other brands, followed by Dr Jart. This explain why the price for BRTC’S BB Cream is slightly steep.
Why I chose this particular BB Cream over other?
On the way back home, I read the brochure of all the products of BRTC. Felt regretted not getting the Gold Caviar BB Cream instead. Gold Caviar BB Cream, although it is expensive (40ml for $55), it is a triple-function cream. Both Whitening & Wrinkle Repair BB Cream and Gold Caviar BB Cream provides whitening and wrinkle repair. Gold Caviar BB Cream‘s third function is it has UV protection and also contains platinum ingredient which supplies rich nutrients as well as shaping care for droopy skin. So, my mum helped me changed again at Watsons.

If you do not wish to spend too much money investing on BB Cream before testing out how is it, you can sign up at Fr3b.com to get samples for FREE!

Christmas Season
December 26th, 2008 Posted 8:34 pm
Alright, I managed to get my beauty sleep just now. We had our xmas party at Benson’s house with my caregroup. Before blogging about the CG Xmas party, let me talk about my Christmas Eve.
Christmas Eve and Caroling(24 December)
When the morning was good to sleep (raining cats and dogs), I woke up at 7am and get ready to head down to TheRock@Suntec for IMAGE. I reached there around 830am but no one reached yet. So I managed to nap a bit. Around 10+am, we started to help the dancers, ushers and drama people to put their makeups and style their hair. It was a busy day as we need to help in 3 services. This was my second time serving in the IMAGE ministry and I learned a lot of things. All thanks to Maurise who popped me the random question whether I want to join the IMAGE ministry. Cause before that I don’t know which ministry to serve – the media team or the IMAGE team. After a whole day, we finally had the time to sit down, rest our legs and watched the last service.
CG Xmas Party (25- 26 December)
Alex, Benson, Kezia, Shawn and I were in the committee. Two weeks ago, we were told that we are in charge of this party. Everyone worked closely together, sending emails and meeting up for confirmation last monday at PS Kopitiam. Yesterday after doing the christmas present for the caregroup, I went down to Causeway Point to meet Alex and Benson to buy some materials. I went to buy the metal rings for my present at Popular and the queue was super long. Luckily Benson already queue up and this was much faster. Samuel, the new brother was with us too. After getting our stuff, we took Alex’s car to Benson’s house. Benson and I were rushing for the individual gifts. I’m left with the binding of the notebook. While I helped Benson cut the paper, Samuel and Shawn help me clip the notebook. :touched:
As we had nothing to do, we sat down and watched tv with Benson’s mum. Around 7pm, majority of them came. We had 6 pizzas from Canadian Pizza. After dinner, I conducted the games. This was my first time conducting it. I took up this challenge because I do not want to play the games. =x So, I volunteered to in-charge of the games. The games we played were “Elephant, Giraffe, Toaster“, “The Hu Hu Game” and “The Handshake Game“.
“Elephant, Giraffe, Toaster”
Stand in a circle. Have one or maybe two people go into the center. These people can go around and point to actually anyone, and, in a more or less intimidating manner, ask that person, and the people adjacent, to perform any of the following figures:
Elephant: middle person puts both hands on nose, hands fisted and touching each other in trunklike manner. Players on either side place one hand each on the ear of the middle person. Giraffe: middle person puts both arms straight up. Players on either side put hands on the middle person’s waist. Toaster: people on either side of the middle person join hands, surrounding the middle player. Middle player jumps up and down, toastishly. The Intimidators try to catch people off guard. Off-guarded ones become the new Intimidator. Encourage the creation of new configurations to prevent proficiency. - extracted from http://www.deepfun.com
Jassy’s modified version of Elephant, Giraffe and Toaster – instead of a person standing in the middle and point to the person to perform either (elephant, giraffe and toaster), there will be no one standing in the middle. The players in the circle will shout the animals themselves.
“The Hu Hu Game”
It’s a game that I played with my ex-unit during New Year Countdown. Everyone to bring their soft toy and share about the soft toy and the significance of it. It’s a little bit of sharing and to let us know each other well. It’s a “Poison Ball” game but instead of we being the target, our soft toy will represent us. Form a circle and place the soft toy in front of you, and we will have ping pong ball in the middle of the circle. The objective is to blow the ping pong ball away from your soft toy.
Since Ben Tay is the HuHu Winner, he had to perform a short snippet of the Taiwanese drama. And LiYi as Tang Men. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xOzZmk_pcIE&feature=related) Time: 7:00 – 7:40 This is super funny. Look at Rainie’s expression.
As they need some time to practise that 40 seconds performance, we proceed on to “HandShake” Game. Initially, we were supposed to have only 2 games, but because we have to give them some time to practise, I conducted the backup game.
“The Handshake Game”
This activity requires a more meditative frame of mind. Everyone in the group picks a number in their head–one, two, or three–that feels right for them at the moment. Without breaking the mood, we mingle and start shaking hands with one another. If my number is one, I shake your hand just once; if it’s two, I shake twice; and I shake your hands three times if it’s three. If we have different numbers, there is an unmistakable moment of tension as one of us tries to stop the shake while the other continues. But if we have the same number, we stop at the same time and we know we’re in the same group. Those of us with the same number stick together and continue our search. Amazingly, more often than not, we will divide ourselves up into three equal groups! - extracted from http://www.deepfun.com
After games, we presented each other our individual gifts. What I gave my caregroup is a personalised notebook. It’s a notebook that can be used to write reflections, thoughts, or even for QT. Every page of the notebook is a motivational bible verses. In total, there are 28 pieces.
My DIY gift
Each notebook required more than 1 hour to complete. In the end, I spent more than 2 days to complete all 16 note books. Though I started doing this early, I could not complete.

The motivational bible verses
Alex conducted the Gift Exchange program. I got Belgium Chocolate from Ben Tay and He got my pen holder. HAHA..So concidental. After gift exchange, we had sharing about our 2008. Everything ended at around 1140pm. It was OTOT. LiYi, HanYun, Kezia, Shu Ning, Shawn, Justin and I played “The Rock Game“. Then, Kezia, Jesline and I went to a room for girls talk. Then, Carrie and Ben Tay joined in and we played Monopoly. It’s a monopoly + sharing game + praying session. Share, because when we stepped into others’ territory, we have to ask each other question. Why Pray? It was because there was one time I need an “8″ in order to skip others’ territory. So I just prayed “Dear God, please give me 8“. I throwed the die and indeed, they sum up to eight. Woohoo.. I slept around 3+pm and woke up around 7+ pm. All of us went to kopitiam for breakfast and went home after that.

It’s simply too SWEET..
December 26th, 2008 Posted 7:44 pm
It’s christmas!!
Along Orchard Road
If you walked along the whole stretch of orchard road, you will see a lot of candies decorations and lightnings. The theme for this year’s Christmas light up is “Sweet Christmas theme“. Along the pedestrain walkways, we have giant cupcakes, trees laden with gumdrops, and street lamps decorated as candy canes. However, according to The New Paper, more than half of S’poreans surveyed dislike this year’s theme. But I preetty love it.

Initially, I planned to walk around Orchard and capture all the christmas trees in the malls. But I do not have the time. Sobx.

I was told to design the e-invites for the christmas carolling and I simply loving the design.. just like my christmas ecard. Besides that, I’m making presents for my sisters and brothers-in-Christ. How to wash your face?
December 22nd, 2008 Posted 3:18 pm
I think it’s gonna be fun if I devote my time blogging about beauty and makeups. I think I will spend more time blogging under the category “Pretty Me”. Anyway, last saturday I went to help out in the IMAGE team and helped the guys put on their makeup. The experience was great, thou I was feeling a bit lost that time. This coming Christmas service, I will be helping out with the dancers. :excited:

Photo from http://www.wemfo.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/washing-face.jpg
Why wash face?
It stimulates lymph system so as to get required oxygen and blood circulation in the face. Washing of face helps to dissolve dirt, makeup and remove excess oils, unclog the pores.
A few simple steps to wash your face correctly.
- Pin up your hair using hair bands or clips.
- Wash your hands with soap before washing your face as you do not want the germs, dirt on your hands to your face. Wash your face, maximum of 3 times. DO NOT wash too many times as washing too much cause irritation and it destroys the natural protection created by your skin.
- Remove your makeup with the makeup cleanser.
- Wet your face with warm water to open the pores. DO NOT use hot water as anything too hot results red marks around the nose and cheeks due to the bursting of capillaries.
- Get a small amount of the cleanser on your hands, rubbing your hands and apply it on your face. DO NOT use bar soaps as they will make your skin dry.
- Use your fingertips and rub the cleanser all over the face in a small and gentle circular motion. Starting from the forehead, to the nose, out to the cheeks and down. Dont forget hairline, neck and the nooks on either side of your nose.
- Rinse your face with cool water so as to close the pores. DO NOT use freezing cold water.
- Pat your face with a dry and clean cloth. DO NOT rub or pull your face and neck.
- Apply toner as it helps remove traces of makeup, dirt and oil that your cleanser may missed. It reduces pores, eliminate oil and refine skin. It makes your skin feel tighter.
- Apply moisturiser. Make sure the moisturiser is appropriate for your skin type.
Tips
- Disinfect your phone as the germs and bacteria on it can cause irritation and breakouts to your face.
- Your facial soap should be different from the one you use for your body. DO NOT use bar soaps as they will make your skin dry.
- When looking for facial cleanser, look for the terms “oil-free” and “non-comedogenic”.
- Do not wash your face with cleanser in the morning. Just rinse it with water. At night, your skin will regenerate a protective layer of oil which block away the environmental toxins.
- You can use gentle exfoliating scrub once a week. Scrub using your fingers, but not too hard. Make sure the exfoliating scrub is gentle and do not have jagged particles.

Singing Performance [10]: Hua Yuan
December 21st, 2008 Posted 12:14 pm
I would like to dedicate this song to a friend of me. 3 years back, I recorded the same song and let her listen to it. She is a friend I know from Jay Chou fan club. She’s kc_theory.
Recorded 4 November 2008
Excerpt from In memory of kc_theory,
One day, i went to the forum and saw a thread mentioning about our members, kc_theory, who passed away on 28 July 2005, due to personal reason. At first, i didnt know who was the girl that everyone is talking about. Until someone showed me her photo. I was shocked. Although we only met one or two times, we chatted alot through MSN. She has the same age as me, and we often chat from our idol, Jay Chou, to our studies, our dreams.
I dont know the reason why she committed suicide. She was a great companion, a great friend of mine. She encouraged me to pursue my dreams.

She was the first person who treated me as her idol, and giving me support in my singing. She said that she will be there supporting me when i’m joining Jue Dui Superstar. She promised that she will wait for my 1st singing album to be out, and i promised her that i will give her my album once i finished all my recordings.
One day, i was feeling sad. She knew, she consoled me.
25 July 05
[06:58:18 PM] -)kc_theory: hey
[07:03:15 PM] *Jas* : hi
[07:03:24 PM] -)kc_theory: how come u so down?

[07:06:33 PM] -)kc_theory: just sayit as it is lor
[07:06:35 PM] -)kc_theory: affairs of the heart? sch?
But, i didnt reply her. That was the last time she chatted with me.
On the day she passed away, i didnt notice her nick and yet i asked her if she have “at the beginning” piano score. I should have notice her nick, and console her..If I’ve done that, she would not be too miserable. Her last nick was : I’m sorry my friends. Goodbye, it’s hard to die
I LOST A REALLY GREAT NUMBER ONE FAN!
From then onwards, I stopped singing this song. Every time I hear this song, it reminds me of her. From my favourite-must-k-song to a song I dread to sing. I decided to re-record this song and hope she can listen to it from Heaven.
