Charred Tent
September 29th, 2007 Posted 4:44 pm
For the past nights(from 24 Sept), i couldnt get to sleep. All thanks to the noise outside. Recently, the open field near my house is having “night activity”. Not clubbing or other stuff. But is all the “ling ling, long longs”, “king king kong kong”, “getai”, the loud music..Alot of times, i feel like complaining because the “night activity” sometimes lasted till 12am. It’s abit frustrating cause i’m a light-sleeper, easily awaken up
until there was a fire…

Collide
September 29th, 2007 Posted 11:14 am
The dawn is breaking
A light shining through
You’re barely waking
And I’m tangled up in you
Yeah
I’m open, you’re closed
Where I follow, you’ll go
I worry I won’t see your face
Light up again
Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to rhyme
Out of the doubt that fills my mind
I somehow find
You and I collide
I’m quiet you know
You make a first impression
I’ve found I’m scared to know I’m always on your mind
Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the stars refuse to shine
Out of the back you fall in time
I somehow find
You and I collide
Don’t stop here
I lost my place
I’m close behind
Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to rhyme
Out of the doubt that fills your mind
You finally find
You and I collide
You finally find
You and I collide
You finally find
You and I collide

A chance of Sunshine
September 27th, 2007 Posted 5:50 pm
A chance of Sunshine
They’re both convinced
that a sudden passion joined them.
Such certainty is more beautiful,
but uncertainty is more beautiful still.Since they’d never met before, they’re sure
that there’d been nothing between them.
But what’s the word from the streets, staircases, hallways–
perhaps they’ve passed by each other a million times?
I want to ask them
if they don’t remember–
a moment face to face
in some revolving door?
perhaps a “sorry” muttered in a crowd?
a curt “wrong number”caught in the receiver?–
but I know the answer.
No, they don’t remember.
They’d be amazed to hear
that Chance has been toying with them
now for years.
Not quite ready yet
to become their Destiny,
it pushed them close, drove them apart,
it barred their path,
stifling a laugh,
and then leaped aside.
There were signs and signals,
even if they couldn’t read them yet.
Perhaps three years ago
or just last Tuesday
a certain leaf fluttered
from one shoulder to another?
Something was dropped and then picked up.
Who knows, maybe the ball that vanished
into childhood’s thicket?
There were doorknobs and doorbells
where one touch had covered another
beforehand.
Suitcases checked and standing side by side.
One night. perhaps, the same dream,
grown hazy by morning.
Every beginning
is only a sequel, after all,
and the book of events
is always open halfway through.

Mooncake for the festivals
September 24th, 2007 Posted 3:41 pm
Normally, we will buy mooncakes from hotels and just eat. But now, my mum and I decided to do it ourselves. Time to get dirty again!
Sift flour into a mixing bowl

Golden Syrup

Pour in Golden syrup, Peanut oil, Alkaline Water.
Combine well to get a smooth dough in one direction

wrap lotus paste with dough, roll into a ball

wrap lotus paste with dough, roll into a ball

First try using the mould

the pattern was not very nice after sometime
the flour was stucked at the cravings.
Solution: Use toothpick to remove any leftovers,
before putting the dough to the mould again.

the small version..

Bake for 15 mins..
Set aside for 30 mins, brush with egg yolk..
bake for another 15 mins at 180°C
Store for 3 days before serving

Mika. Shoes you must not miss!
September 22nd, 2007 Posted 11:28 pm
Finally, i managed to meet up with jay fan friends together. Intially, i was told that there was a bowling session and will inform me once they confirmed the time and the place. But due to some miscommunication, i managed to have dinner with them at Food Republic.
Met them at My Playground. If im not wrong, My Playground was set up not long ago. There’s a shop-Mika(#03-087), which sells DIY Shoes just like Minou Shoe Shop located at Far East. One of the shoes at Mika sold at $79. It is so expensive was because the shoes are made of leather. This shop is opened by a couple- Carol and Dennis, who were at ICON(Bugis) previously.

After retail therapy, we went to archade. Played the basketball machine. How i wish there’s such machine in my house. Then, Mandy and I went to play the percussion set. It was so fun as we can really hit hard on the surface.
At around 720pm, we went to Food Republic for dinner. I didnt know that the place was renovated to become a library cum food court. I really like the whole atmosphere there. Ordered the Hokkien Mee.

Guest House
September 21st, 2007 Posted 9:56 pm
was chatting with my friends about going overseas. I dont mind going Taiwan again especially Alishan. During the 10 days of holiday, i stayed at Taipei and didnt have chance to go to Kao Ksiong. I think if i got the chance to go Taiwan again, i will visit one of the 民宿. One of them will be Farm Guest House-Kenting. It costs S$120-S$150 for a room. Just as i like Walls moo moo icecream, i like the moo moo theme of the Guest House.

Watched 王子变青蛙? One of the shootings was at 小徑民宿.

It costs S$150-S$200 for a room. One special part of 小徑民宿 is that there is a room called boat house(船屋) The whole ambience allows the visitors to relax and get rid of the stress of the moment.
The two recommendations will surely make your taiwan trip more memorable! =)

Jay Chou Secret DVD
September 18th, 2007 Posted 8:43 pm
today, went to bought the Secret DVD. it comes with a poster, which was unexpectedly small. but, it has a glossy surface. At least i can really hang in on the wall without worrying that the poster will gather the dust. So many posters, but yet i just kept everything in a hidden place and “bo chap” it.
Haix.. abit regretted to buy the dvd. cause when i came online and check the forum, i realised that only when you buy the vcd, you will get the coaster. oh man.. wasted.. postcard( freebies if u buy dvd) very not usable. I will just keep it and chap somewhere. Haix.. but, bo bian.. buy already.. unless someone is kind enough to buy the vcd, den give me the coaster? so that i can match with my jay’s cup. =P
Watched the movie again through my dvd player. the effect wasnt great. I prefer to watch it in the cinema. at least the sound effect is better. There are many covers for the dvds. Different countries have different dvd covers.
