Happy Teachers’ Day

Mr Neo B.S.- One day, he told my friend, florence that she failed the AMaths test badly. But when we got back our test papers, florence passed her test, and the one that Mr Neo was refering to was ME. i can still remember that i got 9/20. That time, i was thinking “com’on la.. it’s just 1 more mark. Is it sooo bad??” From that incident, i really strive hard for my maths. Perhaps it’s because of “saving face”. Cause i felt somehow hurt when florence came and told me “eh. i pass my a maths la. the one mr neo was referring to is you”.Man..it’s like abit 丢脸. So, i worked hard for my maths. From a merely pass grade to a nice grade. =X that’s explain why my maths subjects are better than my sciences subjects.

Mrs Chong- Someone i can 发牢骚 and to complain. alot of unpleasant things happened in school, and i will always go and look for her. Besides answering my maths question, she is also a listening ear.. a very mummy-like teacher.

Ms Chan OM- Last time, i scored better in my physics than chem. I always feel that chem is soo tough, needs to memorise alot of things, especially organic chemistry. I felt like giving up chemistry and instead, focus more in physics. People told me that physics is tougher than chemistry, but i dont believe. But until when Ms Chan taught me chemistry, i slowly fell in love with it.. And chemistry wasnt as tough as i thought. So, i continued to work hard and not to give up chemistry.

Mr Tan CB- think of GP= OMG!! the subject that requires not only good language, but also knowledge. Taking GP exam was something like 过一天算一天, and just depend on my “luck” to pass GP. But ever since Mr Tan taught me, his passion and effort somehow touched me. He prepared alot of notes for us, complied thick thick notes, providing more than what a GP teacher can do. So, there shouldnt be no output from us right? So, i worked very very hard for my GP.. trying to do extra essays for him to mark. Actually, Paper1 is not a problem. But Paper 2 is just a headache.

For the past few weeks, i can eat handmade noodle at least once a week. It’s my favourite. But everything comes with a price to pay. and the price for me to eat was to…

Nua the flour!!

and tadang..

Next was the cooking.. My mum was beside me assisting me..then, i had to make the pieces to be as thin as possible. After many times of practice, i mastered the skills of making the pieces as thin as possible.

E-shopping

August 26th, 2007 Posted 12:18 am

E shopping is an IN-thing nowadays. If you ask friends around you what is e-shopping, they would give you an immediate answer. Cause everyone is doing it.. So are you?

Recently, the spree I’ve ordered came and it was sent it through registered mail. I ordered shirt from Cutie(a Taiwan Brand). There, they offer cheap clothes range from $13 to $35(exclusive shipping fees and handling fees).

I was somehow cheated ..to a small extent.. cause the color of the shirt is duller than the one showed in the Internet, somemore, the material is thinner.

How E-shopping is about?

  1. Choose the spree that you are interested. [Accessories, Tops, Shoes etc]
  2. Email the organiser for your order. For SGSpree, you will need to sign up for a livejournal account to place your order.
  3. Get the calculation of currency correctly, plus shipping fee. Make sure that the organiser does not impose “extra” charge.
  4. According to the mode of payment the organiser wants, transfer the money to him/her. Normally, we will do ATM transfer.(*Remember to keep the receipt for verification*)
  5. For E-shops like Forever21, Aeropostale etc, your item will take less than a month to reach. But, for Taiwan e-shops, the spree will take a few weeks or a month to arrive.
  6. Once your item has arrived, the organiser will email you and ask you whether you prefer normal mail or registered mail. I would suggest registered mail. (Postage Rate)

Hope the above helped you somehow. Happy Shopping~~

Prata Cafe
26 Evans Road,(next to Evans Lodge)
Tel: 6333 6979
Opening hours: 6.30am till midnight everyday.

Last friday, went to Prata Cafe for dinner. Actually, was planning to go Al Ameen for pratas and briyani. But after watching Where The Queue Starts 2 on wednesday about prata, we finally decided to go to Prata Cafe to take a look.

A lil information about Prata Cafe

Prata Cafe operates early in the morning till midnight. If you want to go there, it’s wise that you have cars to drive you there. It’s kinda deep down from the main road. Finding the parking lots there wasnt difficult. Cause next to it, there’s a carpark.

Prata Cafe has a varieties of 34 pratas. The prices vary from 80 cents to $6. Their signature prata is Italian Prata(which i didnt have chance to try). It is made up of generous amount of mutton, cheese, mushroom, onions and capsicum.

Ok. We reached there around 8pm, and it was FULL HOUSE!.both indoors and outdoors. So, practically waited for seats and eyeing for people who were almost done eating. The assistant told us to order first as we will have to wait for one hour for the prata.

So, we ordered food like:

  1. Tissue Prata
  2. Seafood Prata
  3. Thosai
  4. Mutton Chip Chop
  5. Ice Cream Prata
  6. Cheese and Mushroom Prata

Tissue Prata
S$1.50
Rating:
Food for thought: It was crispy, but i preferred Al Ameen’s. There, the tissue prata is BIG and crispy. With a bite, you can also feel the sugar bits on the prata.

Seafood Prata
S$***
Rating:
Food for thought: A must try dish! Eat it with the curry sauce given. Generous amount of ingredient.. You wont be bored after eating one piece.

Thosai
S$***
Rating:
Food for thought: Hmmx.. still acceptable. I think i cant get used to the taste.

Icecream Prata
S$***
Rating:
Food for thought: this is fantastic! you can bring along the kids to try it. With the great use of colors, it can really make one happy. The icecream comes with different flavors like strawberry and chocolate. I had strawberry one. The prata is some kind of tissue prata, but it wasnt that crispy.

(The Movie)

August 19th, 2007 Posted 8:02 pm

At first, i thought it was just a campus romance story. But it was more than what i expected. In this 90 minutes movie, Jay, known as Ye Xiang Lun(葉湘倫) was transferred to a new school, and was a music student there. The idea of this movie came from Jay’s childhood experience:

“It happened when I was about 14,” he said. “She broke up with me saying that the exams were near.”

Ye Xiang Lun(葉湘倫) came from a single-parent family, and his father is a teacher in the college 葉湘倫 is studying. One day, he met a girl 小雨 who also like music. Both of them grew affectionately towards each other. But one day, because of a misunderstanding, 小雨 went missing. But the movie slowly revealed the secret of 小雨’s.

The movie was kinda sad and my tears just couldnt stop flowing.

For those who haven’t watch the movie, you should really go and watch. Dont miss it. Jay played the piano real good. For those who watched already, i dont think you would mind watching it again. After discussing with my friends after the movie, i realised that Jay included alot of 小细节.

Campus Superstar 2 Evaluation

August 16th, 2007 Posted 7:11 pm

By now, you should already familiar about who managed to get into semi finals. In my opinion, i felt that this year’s campus superstar 2 was disappointing. The good ones were being booted out from the competition and the not-so-good ones can just go on to the next round just because many people were voting for them.

Let us think:

SINGING POTENTIAL OR POPULARITY?

Sometimes, it was so disappointing that the good ones were not allowed to go in to the next round, despite the fact that they received the highest score from the judges. But, what can we do right?

The reason why zi jie(梓杰) was booted out.

Last week, Zi Jie(梓杰) was eliminated out from the competition. Zi Jie(梓杰) has always got two major pillars supporting him- Diya and Carrie. Fans of both will also help to vote for zi jie. I’m not saying that zi jie got no potential and only depend on these two pillars. Zi Jie is good at singing, but the only problem is he chose the wrong song. Like the song “My Way”, he didnt really fulfil the elements needed for that song.

But, i was thinking is it because of that reason that caused him to be eliminated out. That night was the Dancing Theme. One dreadful afternoon(31 July), someone saw him at the St James Powerstation attending Jay Chou’s Tea Dance Party. Jay Chou is one of his favourite singer. [Zi Jie(梓杰)] being a famous person due to campus superstar, everyone around him will look at him closer and observe what he is doing. Suay suay, someone saw him cutting queue while waiting for Jay Chou to come.

“C’mon la Zi Jie, you are 179cm taller and you cant pretend that no one will see you right? Somemore, you are a somehow public character. Everyone will remember what you have done. ” (this information is from one of my friends who attended the tea dance and saw the situation)

Polling for your favorite NDP Song

August 11th, 2007 Posted 4:24 pm

Thanks for the support for polling your all-time favourite NDP song. Keep on polling. As you can see the majority (44%) voted for Home(not Daughtry’s Home but Kit Chan’s Home), which was the NDP Song for 1998. Home was written and composed by Dick Lee. Like other bloggers mentioned in their blog, this year’s NDP song- There’s No Place I’d Rather Be is like a continuation of Home as the lyrics described again about our home-Singapore.. how Singaporeans who are out of country miss their homeland and there is no other place we call a home but Singapore.

Careful analysis by Jeremy Yew, he mentioned that the first three notes of the chorus, “There’s No Place” have the same tune as “This is home”.

From Jeremy‘s blog

It’s the first 3 notes of the chorus!

Just compare the tune of ”This is home…” with “There’s no place…”. They’re essentially the same notes! (i.e. 3-4-5), so you couldn’t fault someone for mistaking one song for the other.

20th century NDP Songs VS 21st century NDP Songs

Can you really remember the lyrics of the NDP songs after 2000? If you ask me, i will shake my head. Actually, i cant remember what’s last year’s NDP song =X. I agree with some of you that the arrangement of the 21st Century NDP songs are getting better than the 1990s. But were the lyrics memorable that you can confidently pick someone on the streets and ask them to sing for you? I have no problem recalling the whole lyrics for Home.”this is home truly.. where i know i must be..”

So, i was wondering what’s your favorite NDP song.. Vote now.

Stay Pretty? Let DIY masks help you.

Do you go to facial shop to do your facial monthly? Feeling the ache when you have to fork out quite a sum of money just for that 2 hours of facial? Worry no more. Today, im going to teach you how to do some DIY masks. (dont worry.. it shouldnt be a problem.. i tried it before)

  1. Take a banana and slice into half and half again. Then, rub the slice of banana on your face. The smell on your face maybe awful, but somethings, we have to sacrifice. If you couldnt take it, try the grapes instead. Get one grape and cut into two, and apply on your face. (I tried the banana one)
  2. You know what is oatmeal? The one we normally have for our breakfast? Ya. Take some of it and grind them into powder form. Then, add some milk to it. Not too much as you wouldnt want everything to flow down the face. Then, apply the mask on the face. Leave it for 10 minutes and wash away. When you want to wipe your face, do not wipe too hard, cause you may rub away those nutrients. This mask helps you whiten your face.
  3. Get some papaya and mesh them. Not too watery, but a little bit of crumb. Then, add half to a teaspoon of honey to it. Then, apply!
  4. Cucumber and Cucumber Juice. Do you know that cucumber can help you in whitening also? Take a cucumber and make it to cucumber juice. What i did was to use the mask i used before(like SK2 masks, other masks),washed it first, then soak the mask shape into the bowl of cucumber juice and put the mask on the face. It’s okay if you do not have the mask. You can straight away apply to your face.
