Sister’s Club Steamboat
July 29th, 2007 Posted 11:28 pm
That day, woke up quite early and washed the car. Later in the afternoon, went to marina bay for Sister’s Club Steamboat. Knowing that we will reach there quite early, yihong and i went to raffles city. Then, yh told me that there’s Marks and Spencer. So, happily, went to buy my biscuits. After that, yc and cy called me that they reached control station. On the way back, i saw one watch shop with the watch Jie Lun endorsed. So, we went back to control station. After that, we headed to Chin Huat Live Seafood.
Two tables joined together and we started cooking. tk taught me how to cook(actually, i seldom go steamboat outside), and the rest were making noises “ah.. hot.. alamak.. get scalded liao” all of us are too “xiao jie” already. Then we started eating. Anyway, i dont think im suitable to eat buffet. I literally spent the S$12 on a few slices of stingray, some fish balls, some meatballs, fries and one slice of beef.

Then, we brought out the cake and celebrated Edith’s bday. When i first saw the name of the shop- “awfully chocolate” printed on the plastic bag, i thought it was very familiar. And i guessed that i introduced this before.

The people sitting near our tables sang birthday song too. Then, there was fireworks(due to the NDP Preview). Luckily we sat outdoor, so we can eat and watch at the same time. Many people started to take out their cameras and took pictures and videos of it.

the mess we left behind..

After our dinner, we went to the open field opposite and played with our own fireworks. I was being crazy there and made wishes while the fireworks were sparkling. After that, we went back to Orchard, and thought that we can chill out somewhere in Starbucks. But there was alot of people. So, we went to The Cathay. When i reached there, i saw the advertisement of Jie Lun’s movie. They giving free tickets to either the movie premiere or the tea party dance at St James. So, i joked with friends who were with me to spend $10 each, so that i can get the tickets.
Then, we went up to the highest level of the Cathay and chilled. We were sitting right infront of the tv, and it was showing the movie thriller of Vacancy. It was so scary la.. please.. Then, went home with yh. I couldnt sleep as the movie thriller was spinning in my head. Was so terrified, somemore i was alone at home while my parents went to fetch my brothers back.
Anyway, jie lun is coming to Singapore. Sadly, i couldnt welcome him at the airport like what i did 2 years back. Thought the media will give me the pass for the interview with jie lun. But the explanation was that Jay wont be staying in Spore, so its hard to arrange the meet up. =(

Singapore Flyer Snapshots
July 20th, 2007 Posted 12:13 pm
Whenever i was on the expressway ECP, i will always take out my camera and took photos of the Singapore Flyer. For the past few drives on the expressway, they were all at night, so i could not capture the majestic Singapore Flyer. But a few days ago, i was on the expressway and yes, it was in the afternoon. So, i took a few quick snaps of it.

The suay six VS xiaxue
July 19th, 2007 Posted 7:10 pm
Xiaxue? You should know who. The well-known Singapore blogger, and also the “mother of singapore bloggers” wrote a blog entry on the Top 7 disgusting bloggers blog in SGblogosphere. The victims mentioned in her blog are steven lim, celeste chen, maia lee, laozhabo, herself(she gave onli 3 stars out of the 10) and more..
Wonder why she is the “popular” blogger in Singapore. Was it about her “interesting” blog posts that make her soo famous?
In her entry, she evaluated how “disgusting” these bloggers are, saying them till yi4 wen2 bu4 zhi2. After reading that entry, i find that she is the one who is the most disgusting. The victims did not do anything to provoke her but yet she is doing all these sh*t. Since she is the “famous” blogger, many people will read about her entries. Some may get influenced by her “teaching”, but only sensible people like us know the truth.
Many readers streamed in to read her entry and get offended. At the same time, we are helping her to increase the number of hits to her blog.
She also arrowed this auntie(Laozhabor) about showing her flabby arms. This is wat xiaxue said.
“You need to stop showing us your flabby arms.”
What’s wrong with flabby arms? Everyone is not perfect, and we each have our own flaws. LZB may have flabby arms, but she has other talents like acting in our Mediacorp shows. Can you? Xx herself, isnt as perfect as she thinks. She thinks that she is the best, whatever she said is right. But she’s not. And some more, if xx doesnt like to view lzb’s blog, then she can just click the cross at the top right corner of her explorer
LZB quoted “Sigh… … … … am just an old lady… … why must she do that? I wonder how her mum feels about her daughter abusing a senior citizen (and a lot of other people). I’m sad because she is not being taught well. It must be her growing up environment. She may have been abused by someone at young age or she is psychologically sick. She loves using words to abuse people to get thrilled. It’s just like the serial killers. They kill and enjoy seeing their victims in pain. “(after knowing that lzb herself was marked innocently in the “hall of fame”)
So, where’s the “care for the elderly” that our government is trying to promote in Singapore?
I really want to saluate lzb. Although she is old, but she is keeping up with the trend by blogging. I dont think my ah ma will be able to blog, not even with good english.
I dont think it’s sensible enough to criticise people like that. Yeah, blog is our own space. We can blog whatever we want, whatever we feel like it. But before you blog, you have to think that everyone is READING it. It’s on the WORLD WIDE WEB. Blogger should take responsibility on the things they wrote.
If everyone started to blog whatever they “feel like” it, should the government step forward and take control blogging? Should blogging be restricted?
Soon after the mess, Steven Lim made a video for xiaxue, and asking wan bao to sue xiaxue. In case you guys missed out the video Steven Lim had specially made for xiaxue, here’s the url: http://youtube.com/watch?v=riBS5cURFRI
Wonder what Steven Lim was talking about the date with xiaxue for one of the episodes of Girls Out Loud? Here’s the url:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PlEOz1LTOyQ
And guessed what, according to kennysia, Steven Lim is going to have his first debut album. So, lets wait.. =)

The Angsana Tree @ Braddell Road
July 15th, 2007 Posted 4:31 pm

Source: CNA
Talking about road safety, today is the first day of the removal of the angsana tree at braddell road. LTA announced that the 80 yrs old(twice the age of Singapore) tree posed threats to the motorist’s safety. There was an big orange board to indicate the 40km/h speed limit. LTA said that there are still motorists who are driving faster than the speed limit. So, they decided to remove the angsana tree. So after that, there will be 3 straighter lanes along the stretch on Braddell Road.
For those who dont know, this angsana tree is standing right at the middle of the diversion of the road. So is like when you are approaching the tree (while you are worrying that you may knock onto it), the lanes are splitted up. and you go a curve.
I dont think there’s a need to cut down the tree. My dad drove past there many times and didnt have any problem with it. Cruz too. (and i told cruz to start a petition)For sensible drivers, when they see the maximum speed sign, they will automatically slow down their cars if they’ve speeded. No one is so stupid to take his/her life as a joke right? And also, cutting down the trees is not the best way to solve the problem of road safety. Instead of cutting down the trees, why not educate the drivers-to observe road signs? Dont tell me that you gonna cut any trees that you see on the road whenever you find that it is dangerous? Why should we sacrifice a tree for the convenience of such irresponsible motorists?
please lah..
this is not a good solution. 8 days ago, we said “Live Earth Live Earth” So what are they doing now? Isnt it contradicting to the 24 hr broadcast of “Live Earth” on Singapore’s Channel 5?
The road signs are there for a purpose- To warn people to slow down, To give way to other motorists etc.. Anyone aged 15 years old will also understand some basic road signs even though they do not have a driving license.
For forgetful drivers, let me help you refresh your memories..in case you’ve forgotten everything after you took your theory test.
Indication of a Electronic Road Pricing gantry
Road narrows on left ahead
Indication of a zebra crossing
Sharp left bend ahead
Lane merged with centre lane ahead
Temporary sign to ask motorists to slow down
Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Road_signs_in_Singapore
I’ve thought of this way.. Instead of cutting down the tree, we can have speeding camera and sign boards like this:

It may not be the best solution, but is one of the many solutions LTA can use. What Singaporeans fear the most? Summon!!
*updated*
Just watched the news on how the workers saw the branches of the 80 yrs old tree. Just like peeling one’s flesh. My heart bleeds.

Up the kerb
July 15th, 2007 Posted 4:29 pm
Yesterday, daddy drove me to NTU for my test. Unfamiliar with the places, we made many rounds around the campus trying to find the block. We stopped at the admin office, and asked the security guard there.
So, daddy drove me to the actual carpark. Never did we know, the car went up to the kerb, when we were making our left turn. So the car was halfway hanging down there. The car engine die-ed. But luckily after sometime, the car survived. Stepped the accelerating pedal and off from the kerb. Luckily the car didnt suffer major damage, if not i will feel so guilty please.. When daddy reached home, he told me that while he was driving yesterday, there was some noise at the back of the car there. So, he went to the workshop. His friend checked that the metal strip inside was dented. Then fixed the dented metal area and also changed the car tyres.
After the physics test, i went Jurong Point with some friends. The last time i went to JP was on 13 Feb, when we were picking necklace for tx’s gf. It has been 5 months. Not only the look of JP has changed, but also some friendships have changed. After lunch, we went back to the campus for the chemistry test. It was so tiring doing the test. 2 hours for 60 MCQ questions per test. Imagine, i need to complete the 120 MCQ questions for that day? After the chem test, went back JP to meet mummy. On the way back, we took bus 199. Jas was sitting beside me. I told her that the guy sitting opposite us looks like one of the members in 5566-Xu Meng Zhe. He is the spectacled version of xu meng zhe.

Just for laugh
July 13th, 2007 Posted 7:13 pm
I love tuning to 987fm in the morning for Muttons in the morning and the afternoon Dan and Young Show. They have some jokes that really make me like a crazy girl who couldnt stop giggling in the bus. You can catch the podcast at podcast.sg
The centipede going pub.
A man went to a Pet Shop.
Staff: “hey. can i help you?”
Man: “i want to buy a pet. not a cat, not a dog, not fish, but something that people would not get.”
Staff: “Here. This is a talking centipede.”
Man: “okok.. thank you”The man happily went home with the centipede in the matchbox. when the man reached home, he opened the matchbox and and said “hey bro, wanna get some drink at the pub?”The centipede didnt reply. So, the man thought that the centipede is tired after a long journey back from the shop. So, the man decided to wait for 1 hour and then ask the centipede.
1 hours later..
Man:”hey bro, wanna get some drink at the pub?”but there wasnt any reply. so, the man decided wait for another 1 hour and then ask the centipede.
1 hours later..
Man:”hey bro, wanna get some drink at the pub?”but there wasnt any reply. fearing that the staff may cheat him, the man decided give it a last shot and decided to wait for another 1 hour and then ask the centipede.
1 hours later..
Man:”hey bro, wanna get some drink at the pub?”and suddenly, the centipede peeped out and shouted:”shut up you idi*t! I need to take 3 hours to put my shoes on.”
Ong and Leong-Pepper story
Ong: “hey leong.”
Leong: “hey ong”
Ong: “today, let me cook for you. ok?”
Leong: “o.. that’s so nice of you”So Ong went to the kitchen and cook for Leong. Leong was excited and waited.
and waited. (1 hr..)
and waited.. (1 hr..)
Leong was puzzled why Ong is taking such a long time to cook. So, he went to the kitchen and ask Ong.
Leong:”eh..Ong.. why so long one?”
Ong:”Leong, i spent the past hours putting this pepper into these small holes”
Firehouse and exam papers.
A teacher told her students.
Teacher:”for your exam scripts, you have to write neater and bigger, so that the exam markers can see. You know ar.. they are marking your paper in the winter, beside the firehouse. So if the marker is frustrated as he couldnt see what you have write, the marker will throw the your exam scripts to the firehouse and let it burn.”
haha.. there are still more jokes.

[Version2] A ballerina’s dream
July 13th, 2007 Posted 2:29 pm

This is my 2nd version of web design for my blog (still in beta version). I’ve made the theme as “A Ballerina’s Dream” as i was once a ballerina when i was young.
This theme is redesigned from the template She’s Got Style.
I miss the days i had to perform and remember the dance steps, where competition was tough as everyone wishes to be the best dancer. In the midst of preparation for my dance exam, i was scolded severely by my dance teacher as i did not constantly practice my exam moves, and said that i will not make it for the exam. Dancing requires strict discipline. Not only you practice in the dance school, but you will have to do self-training yourselves at home, which i didnt. But, i proved my teacher wrong. She said i will not make it, but i made it. I got MERIT for that Grade5 exam.
I’m still keeping my ballet shoes, my stockings, my dance gear. This theme somehow reminisces my past as a dancer.
The main header picture was taken from aidyladyy. and i added the theme name “A ballerina’s dream” on the header picture. The background picture under my main post was taken dlkltn.
At the top right corner of the blog section, i was thinking of putting the latest posts link as visitor can straight away click the link to see the new blog posts. Any other suggestion you guys can think of?
At the sidebar..
i had this new gadget called voki. I have yet changed the voice to my real voice, so temporary, im using the machine voice. I will try to update the voki regularly. So, you will be able to know what’s happening around me nowadays.

startdrawing for LIVE Earth
July 9th, 2007 Posted 10:33 pm
Everyone plays a little part in saving our Earth. So, the tiny me did something not as significant, but a way to show that I CARE FOR THE EARTH! Going Green is an action taken by me to support the Live Earth: A concert for the Climate in Crisis. This movement started from 4 July and will be ending on 11 July.
In addition, i wore green on 070707 when i was at Orchard Road. I can see that some people are wearing green, but not the majority. Perhaps, green wasnt a “popular” color. I was telling my friend about Wearing Green. She went Orchard with me and both of us wore green tops. I know, Wearing Green isnt a big deal. But it’s the simplest and little thing i can do to let people around me to be aware of this day.
Besides Going Green and Wearing Green, i submitted my artwork to http://startdrawingforliveearth.blogspot.com/.

Let’s Love our Earth everytime. Start from the little things you can do like supporting the Bringing Your Own Bag Day.

Strangely slimmed down
July 8th, 2007 Posted 5:53 pm
我瘦够了!
Heard of this catchy phrase before on the tv?
I wore my watch. Strangely, it became loose. Normally, when i wore my watch, there was a little space within. However, recently when i wear my watch, it was so loose. Yesterday night, i was staring at my wrist. and SUDDENLY realised that my wrist is smaller. so i went to the weighing scale to check out my weight. A 48kg me lost 2kg. I didnt even purposely cut down my diet, but yet i’ve slimmed down.
Strange indeed.
